Beloved Perk-A-Cola Set to Return to Black Ops 6

Black Ops 6

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has brought back several Perk-A-Colas from previous games and previous maps. Of course, the staples, such as Stamin-Up, Juggernog, Quick Revive, and others have never left, but every so often, another one returns. Earlier this year, CoD brought back Death Perception, a perk that hadn’t been seen since Black Ops 4. Now, a new leak from a reliable source suggests that another popular perk is headed back to the game mode, and it’s one that could make a huge difference.

Leak Teases Next Perk-A-Cola for Black Ops 6

Double Tap, the beloved Perk-A-Cola from years past, looks like it is on the way back to zombies mode. Leaker Reality on X found game files for augments specifically related to Double Tap. This includes all the major and minor augments that players can unlock, which indicates very strongly that this particular perk is up next. There have also been leaks about the next map, which could be a mansion.

Black Ops 6 players know more DLC is coming for zombies, as each Season update has had a new map. With so many more planned, it’s very possible that there will be more than a few more maps added by the time this game’s shelf life expires. That means more Perk-A-Cola machines and the next one up could very well be Double Tap. This perk hasn’t been seen in the games in years.

It’s currently unclear if this will be Double Tap or Double Tap 2.0, the refined version from Black Ops 2 and onward. The latter is more likely given that it’s a better overall perk. It effectively made it so that each bullet cost half a round, so you could double your magazine size.

If you had 30 bullets in the chamber, you’d basically shoot 60 times before running out. In other words, guns became almost twice as powerful. It’s a great perk, and it’s long overdue for a return. Please keep in mind that this is a leak, so it’s not confirmed. We won’t have confirmation on what the upcoming perk is until much closer to the Season 3 update, and we just got Season 2 Reloaded. It’ll be a while.

What Does This Mean for Older Maps?

If and when Double Tap does come back to Black Ops 6, and it’s likely to eventually be in the game regardless of whether it’s in the next DLC update or not, it will only be present on the newest map. For example, Vulture’s Aid only has a machine on Citadelle Des Morts. Death Perception’s machine is only found on The Tomb. They don’t get retroactively added to the previous maps, but that doesn’t mean the map won’t ever have access to the perk.

Enter the Der Wunderfizz machine. It’s essentially a soda machine with all the Perk-A-Colas available, and unlike in previous iterations, you can pick and choose. In fact, you could use the Der Wunderfizz machine to pick any perks whether they’re on the map or not. Don’t feel like running to the machines all across the map? Find the Der Wunderfizz and buy whatever you need. That includes getting Vulture’s Aid on The Tomb, Death Perception on Liberty Falls, and eventually, Double Tap on every Black Ops 6 map.
