Donkey Kong Bananza’s Artist Mode – Give Players Creative Freedom and They Make Cursed Art
Donkey Kong Bananza features a fun Artist Mode, where players can sculpt and color their own stone sculptures using the Nintendo Switch 2’s mouse controls. They can also share their creations online. Of course, this means that some people have made some rather inappropriate sculptures that might shake Nintendo’s family-friendly image.
Cursed Creations in Donkey Kong Bananza

The Gamer shared some particularly memorable creations from players’ twisted imaginations, courtesy of Reddit. Some users merge Donkey Kong with other characters. Sans from Undertale is a particularly popular character – perhaps people enjoy merging the mighty ape with a skeleton. A particularly bizarre image created by Reddit user “Mannihorst” is titled “The Crucifixion of Kong.” Yes, really. Is the creation turning Donkey Kong into a Christ figure, or is it just reveling in the ape’s suffering? You can be the judge.
Not Safe for Work
And of course, we have people who make creations that are decidedly inappropriate. A user on X called “Deadstokk” shared an adult image made by their friend. Titled “Konkey Dong,” it portrays the famous ape in an anatomically correct fashion. Of course, there are probably thousands of others who are making private parts using the Art Mode. There are probably countless parents who are scolding countless teenagers for the inappropriate way they play Donkey Kong Bananza.
Conclusion
When any kind of game offers a creativity mode, it is guaranteed that people will make twisted creations. However, should we frown at these creations? The Crucifixion of Kong may be weird and morbid, but it also looks like it took a lot of time and effort to make. I kind of admire it. While I own Donkey Kong Bananza, I haven’t yet been able to obtain a Switch 2 to play it on. Whenever I do, I’ll definitely be spending some time with the Art Mode. Don’t worry – I’ll keep the not safe for work creations to myself.
