Pokemon 2024: All Astounding Eevee Evolutions

Pokémon Go by game freak

Eevee has been one of the staples in the Pokemon series, even getting its own game Let’s Go Eevee back when the Pokemon games were coming from the newer gens of the Switch. Eevee is a fan favorite of many for being cute, adorable, and fluffy. It is one of the Pokemon that if you ask trainers what Mon they would want to travel with, me included.  Even with its physical features, what else makes Eevee popular is it comes with several evolutions that can dip into different types from the Fire to Fairy. Let’s take a look into Eevee and their Evolutions.

In 2018, Japan made Nov. 21, Eevee Day, celebrating the little DNA Pokemon’s popularity and making it known.

Eevee wasn’t seen as a “popular” mon in the beginning of its success when it was released originally in Gen 1 of Pokemon, which would mean Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow in Gameboy Color back in 1998. Back then, Eevee only had three Evolutions (or Eeveelutions). Once you obtained it from Celadon Mansion in Celadon City, you could evolve the normal type Eevee to a Flareon, a Fire-type, Jolteon, an Electric-type, and Vaporeon, a Water-type. All use their respective stones to evolve the original and make it adapt to your team. Unfortunately, this process, like all Pokemon was a one-way evolution so once you evolved it, you couldn’t go back.

Eevee, since its debut, has been in several other games, like the one mentioned above Let’s Go Eevee, while it wasn’t anything like its “own” game, it has been shown off in several games like Gen II, Pokemon Gold and Silver, where it was with the Kimono girls, each having their own Eeveelution known in that gen. Pokemon Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness on the GameCube where your first starting companion was two Eeveelution that was introduced in Gen II, Espeon and Umbreon in Colosseum, and an Eevee you can evolve in Gale of Darkness.

Games to this day are still celebrating Eevee Day by giving game events to either catch a special Eevee or obtain special outfits for your character that have fluffy mascots all over them. In the games of Scarlet and Violet, you can catch special Tera-type Eevees with unique titles and they would even increase the mass outbreak odds so that you can try to farm a shiny Eevee and its evolutions.

All Eeveelutions In Pokemon

I have mentioned several earlier but I want to touch on them again and some that I haven’t hit yet. If it wasn’t entirely clear yet, Eevee is popular not only for its looks but also because it can evolve into several different states that allow it to change its types, and looks and even complement your battle styles.

As of the writing, there are eight Eeveelutions: From Gen I there is Jolteon, a thunder type, Vaporeon, a water type, Flareon, a fire type. Umbreon is a dark type, and Espeon is a psychic type from Gen II. Leafeon, a grass type, and Glacion, an ice type, from Gen IV, and Sylveon, a fairy type that was welcomed in Gen VI. Unfortunately, it skipped some Gens like Gen III, V, and Gen VIII, which could have used some especially with Dynamax Pokemon being introduced in Gen VIII, but they did give us a fluffier Eevee.

All have their unique forms, abilities, stats, and shiny looks. For those who don’t know, Shiny Pokmon are Pokemon that have a different color style, some aren’t wildly different while others stand out compared to their old colors. Shiny Sylveon and Shiny Umbreon are my favorites with Shiny Umbreon being the go-to shiny for anyone looking to get a shiny Eeveelution.

Pokemon doesn’t give out evolutions, at times they seem not to want Eevee to have anymore, if you believe what most fans are saying. Personally, I love the evolutions and would love to see more. There are fanmade ones that just make perfect sense seeing as how there are still 9 other types that can be used. While I agree that Pokemon isn’t forgetting about this fluff ball, it’s still sad that they haven’t introduced anything new. But maybe soon, with a new Legends game coming out, maybe we will see something soon.
