The new Palia update has brought its players more than just a new home on Steam. Since the game entered beta in 2023 Singular 6 has focused mainly on getting the game out to as many people as possible. Most updates have been centered around releasing on Nintendo Switch, and most recently on Steam. But this update brought the players something truly special.
Players have been logging in to find that spring has sprung with a fresh new look around Kilima and Bahari Bay. Players have new ways to decorate their housing plots with the brand-new tree and flower system. That’s not even the best part, though.
Palia Update Adds to Worldbuilding
As part of Palia‘s update, players are now able to reach friendship level 5 with some of the game’s most loveable characters: Ashura, Tish, Reth, and Zeki. The expanded friendship quests give players a deeper look into the lives of the villagers and resolve some tension left by the level 4 quests. On completing these quests, players are gifted a unique furniture item to decorate their homes.
On top of new friendship quests, this update has also brought new chat dialogue while chatting with these villagers. It gives players a reason to keep talking to their favorite villagers even after they reach level 5 friendship.
New Mechanics Make Gameplay Easier
One thing players have been requesting developers to add to Palia is a grid on the map. This update fulfilled that wish. The grid helps players communicate the locations of rare finds like groves, and that ever-elusive disco deer much easier.
Also new with this update is the ammo pouch. This mechanic adds an ammo pouch for all your arrows, fireworks, and worms. It can be bought at Zeki’s General Store, and much like the backpack, has expansions that can be purchased. The initial cost is 250 gold for the ammo pouch and the 8-slot expansion prices increase with each purchase up to 25,000 gold.
The game devs have also been working on improving the climbing mechanic throughout the game. They have managed to work out most of the kinks, including the issue where players couldn’t complete the Temple of Gales due to climbing issues. While the mechanic isn’t completely worked out, it is much smoother this time around, and the developers are continuing to work on the issue.
Spring Into Palia With New Cosmetics
Rounding off the latest Palia update, new outfits are available in the premium shop, with one being released at a lower price point than any previously available cosmetics. The “Harness Your Power” bundle is available starting at 425 Palia coins. The featured outfit for this release is the Shadowstalker. It turns your avatar into the ultimate ninja with special effects for both idling and running.
They have also released new housing items like the new courtyard building. It attaches to a building socket like any other room. You can choose to have the courtyard entrance flat on the ground or with stairs leading down. Combining the courtyard with the new flower system is the perfect way to celebrate spring on your housing plot, and lots of players are already sharing their designs over on the game’s discord.
The devs over at Singularity Six are constantly working to improve the cozy game of Palia. So it’s safe to say the next update should be just as exciting as this one!
