Warframe’s new update ‘Koumei & the Five Fates’ will be released this Fall. In this update, there will be a host of QOL changes, new player experience improvements, and new content added. This spooky update will arrive just in time for Halloween, which is perfect considering its gothic feel. More on this update will be showcased at the Tokyo Game Show 2024 on September 27. This update will be one of two coming by the end of 2024.
New Player Experience Improvements
For many, Warframe is a difficult game to get into. Whether it be from the complicated gameplay systems or the backlog of 11 years of content to catch up on, Warframe is overwhelming to many new players. Every update in 2024 has included improvements to the new player experience, and ‘Koumei & the Five Fates’ is no different. Changes will be made to streamline the beginning of the game and make it less of an information overload. One change is the removal of highly specific stats during the ‘Awakening’ quest to elevate the most important information. The hacking puzzles in ‘Awakening’ and ‘Vor’s Prize’ will be slowed as well.
In addition to this, the ‘Howl of the Kubrow’ quest will now only take 60 seconds to incubate a Kubrow. This is part of a larger effort to reduce crafting timers in the early game because the high timers are a major reason why many new players quit. Another few QOL changes coming in ‘Koumei & the Five Fates’ is the addition of legends for open world maps and a notification within navigation if your equipment is unmodded. Trying to sell a weapon that isn’t max rank will prompt a pop-up that asks the player if they’re sure they want to sell the unranked weapon. This feature will further introduce the Mastery Rank system.
QOL Changes Coming For All Players
A highly-anticipated QOL change coming in this Fall update is the addition of relics now displaying owned items. This small but impactful feature will streamline relic farming greatly. Along with this, when looking at mods in the codex, unowned mods will now show where to farm them. Currently, hovering over unowned mods will only heed question marks. This change will decrease the amount of time players spend on the wiki which is great! Staying on the topic of mods, fusing mods with Endo will now have a refreshed UI. This new UI (User Interface) will further simplify the fusion process and bring modding to the forefront in ‘Koumei & the Five Fates’.
When purchasing Arcanes, it will now show how many ranked Arcanes of that type you have. Browsing your settings will be a lot easier in this update, as a diamond icon will appear next to the settings you’ve changed. This will make tweaking settings and reverting back to defaults much easier. Arsenal favorites will also be added to Warframe in this update. Selecting a piece of equipment as a Favorite will cause it to be at the top of your Arsenal for easy access. The second half of the Companion Rework QOL changes will also debut in this update. Many other changes are planned for this update as well.
Other Additions And Closing Thoughts
Two deluxe skins will make their debut in ‘Koumei & the Five Fates’. These skins will belong to Volt and Caliban, with the latter receiving a complete rework to compliment his new look. The Caliban rework is long overdue, and many fans are excited to see what DE has in store for him. Caliban’s deluxe skin will also come with a ghostly ephemera to match. Further work on cross-platform trading will also be done to streamline the experience and bring all players together. Koumei will be a new Warframe added to the game. Not much is known about her yet, but we do know she will be unlike any other Warframe in the game.
