All Baldur’s Gate 3 Main Characters Ranked by Lethality
Baldur’s Gate 3 is hailed as one of the greatest games of all time, due to its incredible story, lovable characters, and freedom of choice. While the characters are very endearing, they are all members of a genre that often features violence as the norm. With that being said, if they somehow had to converse with us in real life, this is how quickly they would end our lives.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Character Kill Rankings

Number 1, Minthara
Minthara is at first presented to the character as a villain they encounter in Act One, who can later join the party. Being a member of the Drow, Minthara is a ruthless matriarch who views any sort of kindness or selfless behavior as weakness to be expunged. If playing a good, centered character, it can be hard to earn approval; this is not true if playing someone evil, like the dark Urge. As much as her dark humor and blunt personality are fun to have at the party, she would not hesitate to kill anyone in her way.
Number 2, Lae’zel
Lae’zel, the fan favorite Githyanki in Baldur’s Gate 3, is only slightly less murderous than Minthara, but it’s close. The Githyanki are, in most terms, extremist, dogmatic xenophobes. While the player character can push Lae’zel down a more moderate route, she will always be a warrior who likes to express themselves through violence.
Number 3, Shadowheart
Shadowheart, the daughter of darkness, is a Shar worshiper. A cult of secrets and loss. Shar worship is more akin to brainwashing, at least this is the case for Shadowheart, as her memories were repeatedly taken away, and then conditioned for utter obedience. They made her train in torture tactics, espionage, and other shadowy arts. This hasn’t given Shadowheart a lot of space to become, let’s say, open to conversation and proper communication.
Number 5, Astarion
The Pale Elf, known as Astarion, is a rogue, sly-mouthed, easy talker, and oh, he is also a Vampire. Now, Astarion is arguably the most tortured character on this list. He has been a slave for over a hundred years. Forced by his master to lure and charm unsuspecting innocents back to his Master’s home. Even though his a rogue heartthrob, he is at heart a gentle, loving person. That being said, he won’t think twice about drinking your blood if it smells delicious.
Number 4, Karlach
The Teifling Karlach is our gentle giant, who happens to have fought in a hell war for the last ten years. Karlach is, without a doubt, a good person who cares and wishes to protect people from evil. That being said, one shouldn’t cross her, as she is prone to various bouts of fiery rage, where she just might cleave your head from your body.
Number 5, Wyll
The Sword of the Coast, Wyll is a hero who would sacrifice his own eye to save Baldur’s Gate. Wyll is simply put, a hero through and through. However, there is a reason why he is not last on this list, and that is not because of Wyll, but because of Mizora, his patron. Mizora is the opposite of Wyll, evil, and ambitious; she sometimes does not give Wyll a chance to do the right thing or to save the day, but requires him to do her bidding. If we find ourselves at the end of Wyll’s sword, it won’t be because of him, but most likely due to his patron.
Number 6, Gale
Out of this list, Gale of Waterdeep appears to be the most normal personality-wise in Baldur’s Gate 3. He wants to do what is right and doesn’t want innocent people to get hurt. However, he has ambitions larger than the universe. Though ambitions aren’t inherently evil, they can have bad consequences, and that is something he has to deal with. In short, he just has no reason or wish to kill a person if they were just minding their own business.
Number 7, Halsin
Halsin, the druid, is just a good person in Baldur’s Gate 3, and there is no other way to view him. The large elf has never done anything that can even be considered vile or evil. The only thing a person can disagree with him over is being too kind, too lenient. As a druid, Halsin loves and worships nature and wishes for all things to find balance; he would never kill someone who was never deserving of it, and for that reason, he is the last on this list.
