Cyberpunk 2077 New Found Transportation Bug Has People Talking

One Cyberpunk 2077 player had a surreal experience recently when a previously undiscovered bug teleported her across the map. It was an unnerving experience, one that has people talking. Most players do not enjoy being teleported completely away from their destination, especially when they come face to face with a creepy situation as a result. Thankfully, it appears to be a bug that only rarely appears in specific circumstances, but given Cyberpunk’s history with bugs and glitches, some players remain skeptical.

Cyberpunk 2077 Strange Bug Startles Users

Players of Cyberpunk 2077 are used to the game having bugs. After all, the highly troubled launch back in 2020 is still talked about even today. It was so bad that the game was actually pulled from store fronts and rereleased with most kinks worked out. The game has come a long way since that time, having ultimately risen to high popularity and critical acclaim. That does not mean it is immune to any other bugs popping up, as fans recently discovered.

According to Game Rant, as reported by reddit user Curilan_, “[they] found themselves spirited away after pulling over in front of The Afterlife, the iconic bar that’s the starting point for many of the game’s quests. Mere moments after they exited their light blue Quadra Turbo-R 740, something went terribly wrong, and the game quickly transitioned to a loading screen. Next thing they know, they’re standing in front of the window of Judy’s apartment, located on the opposite (north) side of Watson.”

The aptly named transportation bug does not end there, though, and quickly launched the online meme “creepy Judy”. When the user appeared in front of Judy’s apartment, the weird lighting and the fact that Judy was staring intently gave off an eerie, uncomfortable aura. Apparently, the user’s V character had been launched into the air as she neared The Afterlife, which then transported her once she was too far out from the map. Why it brought her to Judy’s apartment, though, is anyone’s guess.

This bug has only been discovered once in five years, so players should not be overly concerned that they will discover it while playing their own version of Cyberpunk 2077. The minor, specific extreme case scenarios would make it very hard to replicate. In fact, given the lack of occurances of the bug, it would be a surprise to see CD Projekt RED even bother to patch it out. Although, given their early reputation, they may try to just to prove themselves.

Final Thoughts

Cyberpunk 2077 has truly revolutionized itself since its horrific first launch, and hopes to continue to do so when it launches on Switch 2 later next month. That does not mean it will always be immune to bugs, though. Every piece of software has the possibility to come across a glitch or two, no matter how hard it works. This bug was minor, and gave fans and the internet something to joke and talk about on social media, all in good fun. Cyberpunk 2077 remains a fantastic game, regardless.
