Genshin Impact Most Relatable Character, Jahoda, Arrives with a Bang

Jahoda is, perhaps, the most expressive character in the game to date.  Which, given the grave tone of the Nod Krai Archon Quest, is rather a pleasant distraction.  Fortunately, in addition to her charming personality, she has a good kit as well.  That said, I do wish they had incorporated her mechanical arm in some way.

How Does Jahoda Work

Jahoda is a 4-Star Anemo Bow-user who absorbs Swirlable Elements to provide additional damage, while also Healing the party and buffing herself.

Death in a Bottle

Jahoda’s Skill is fairly interesting.  There are, technically, 2 versions.  If you use it and it doesn’t hit an enemy, she’ll just drop a smoke bomb, which does negligible damage, and that’s that.  If she does hit an enemy, however, she’ll enter a special state where she starts running around and absorbing whichever Swirlable Element (Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, Electro) is currently on the target (assuming there is one, of course).

If the party isn’t in at Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam (2 Nod Krai characters), then after absorbing enough Element power (indicated by a vial icon), the skill will just release a blast of Anemo damage.  However, if the party is in Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam, the vial will instead slowly empty, firing off periodic blasts of whatever Element was absorbed until it runs dry (20 seconds).  Jahoda has to remain On-Field to fill the vial, but can be moved Off-Field once it starts unloading.

Also, you don’t have to hold her Skill to keep absorbing Elements.  As long as she hits an enemy, she will enter the absorption state and remain there until the timer runs out or she fills the vial.

Paws-ative Reinforcement

Jahoda’s Burst summons 2 Purrsonal Coordinated Assitance Robots.  These robots will Heal the active character and, if the active character is above 70% HP, they will also Heal the lowest Health party member.  Furthermore, if a nearby enemy is affected by a Swirlable Element and the party is in Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam, the robots will convert into that Element and deal periodic damage to up to 3 nearby enemies.  If enemies are affected by multiple Elements, the order of priority is Pyro, Hydro, Electro, Cryo.

Finally, owing to her 1st Passive, upon deploying her Burst, Jahoda will scan the party.  If there are members with Swirl Elements in it, she will enhance her robots based on which Element has more representation.  So, 2 Pyro beats out 1 Hydro.  If the numbers are equal, she will follow the same tier list as her Burst’s conversion lineup.

The enhancements are as follows: Pyro increases the damage of her robots, Hydro increases their Healing, Electro creates a 3rd robot, and Cryo will decrease the intervals between attacks.  Only 1 enhancement can be active, unless you have C2, then you can have up to 2 going at once.

Bonus Information

Jahoda’s 2nd Passive increases the active character’s EM by 100 for 6 seconds if they are Healed by her Burst while over 70% HP.  Her Utility Passive allows her to gather information from NPCs in Nod Krai, which she can turn in to Katheryn for a special quest.  It also decreases the amount of time she needs to spend on an Expedition.

What to Build on Jahoda

Silken Moon’s Serenade is probably your best bet if you are throwing her into a Nod Krai team.  If you want to use Viridescent Venerer on her, make sure you don’t have a single other Nod Krai character in the team.  If you do, she will do almost no Anemo damage, so there won’t be any Swirl reactions to proc the shred.

ATK is her best Stat, followed by ER and EM.  The CRITs are nice but not priorities.  Her best 5-Star Bow is Elegy of the End.  If you’d prefer a 4-Star weapon, go for either Snare Hook or Rainbow Serpent’s Rain Bow.

Who Synergizes with Jahoda

She works very well with all Nod Krai units.  Her ability to function as a Hydro applicator means that you don’t necessarily need to bring Aino anymore, which makes high mobility targets less of a pain in the butt.  She’ll fit in to most teams, so long as she has another Nod Krai character with her, so just mix and match to find out what works for you.
