“Morrowind Intense Massive 3-Year Update Lets You Play Skyrim in Morrowind—Goodbye, Vanilla!”
Morrowind has been winding down in quiet space for quite some time now, considering its age, and with other games to focus on, Todd Howard has just a little bit on his plate. Luckily for us and him, the creators of an OpenMW version of Morrowind have been taking good care of his IP, filled with all the joys of the old game, with just a little bit more bug fixes, current content, skeletons.. and recently they released an update that has been three years in the making.
The art of dedication

Morrowind, while not as popular as, say, Skyrim, is still a game that pops up in plenty of top ten lists and has quite the fanbase to prove it. The proof is in the pudding with the creation of the OpenMW-modded Morrowind, what could be a better love letter to three whole years of work? This update is huge, making it rather believable that it actually took that much time in the first place. With this Effort, they have started to prototype the 2006 Oblivion, Skyrim, along with some games for the Fallout series, making it really something to watch out for.
What can’t one do?
The years-long update has many more tricks up its sleeve to bring Morrowind back into the shiny spotlight it deserves, with updates to nearly everything you could think of, combat, graphics, the power to be awesome and better than anyone who thinks it’s a good idea to rob you for some reason.. the most essential parts of any Bethsaida game. These updates bring the game more up to speed with the modern expectation for gaming, and while that is limited, it’s still nice to see real effort being put in, especially since without..well..the studio won’t make their remasters cheap.
The best thing about mods
Take your hats off to those who battle codes and squeeze the rubber duck people! The effort it takes to make games is already quite a feat, now take that and make it without the money or time set aside for it? It’s a very thankless job and one that leaves me shocked. It’s just such an act of passion and one that changes the face of gaming, just like the people who created Fallout New London. It goes to show, that creativity shall never be stopped in its tracks.
