The Kingdom Hearts 4 Website was Finally Updated But It’s Not the Update Fans Were Hoping For
Talks on the new Kingdom Hearts 4 game began 5 years ago, with one announcement trailer released in 2022. As a Kingdom Hearts fan, I understand the struggle, waiting for another game to drop within this series, especially after Kingdom Hearts 3. So when news broke about an update the the Kingdom Hearts 4 website, of course, excitement was at an all-time high. However, the update wasn’t at all what we thought. Here’s all about the Kingdom Hearts 4 update.
The Kingdom Hearts 4 Website Just Had an Update
According to X user Maxemldr, the official website for Kingdom Hearts 4 recently updated its website, and removed any reference to Kingdom Hearts Missing Link, the mobile game that was cancelled earlier in the year. This is the first update that’s ever been made on the website since it opened, which says a lot.
Square Enix has always been hush-hush when it comes to the development of any Kingdom Hearts game. At first, it was pretty cool, having little to no information on a beloved game series, waiting until the game was almost at launch to release any kind of information. It hyped things up so much, keeping fans on their toes, having us believe details on the game were like classified information we weren’t privy to. Now, it’s kind of annoying and has some fans really pissed off.
It’s Not the Update Fans Were Hoping For
This update wasn’t at all what fans were hoping for. It actually has nothing to do with Kingdom Hearts 4, and it’s really disappointed some fans. As a long-time fan of the series, I’ve grown accustomed to Square Enix’s unusual way of handling Kingdom Hearts updates, leaks, etc.
Even after the long gap between Kingdom Hearts 2 and 3, there’ve been different Kingdom Hearts games released in between that not only kept us satiated, but have helped build the expansive lore of the series. Considering the history of the game series, we should not expect a lot of updates on the fourth installment any time soon; however, it wouldn’t hurt to hope for little breadcrumbs here and there to help keep the interest in the fourth game alive and well.
