However, will the game ever be remade? Scenario writer Yuji Horii might be open to the idea.

Yuji Horii, who was the creator of the Dragon Quest series and the scenario writer for Chrono Trigger, was discussing the thirtieth anniversary celebration of the game, and he acknowledged that fans have been wanting a remake for a while now. He stated, “Yes, I want to do something. Currently, Dragon Quest has seen III, I, and II remakes. I get a lot of requests for the remake of Chrono Trigger as well, and so I’m starting to contemplate on it.”

Square Enix has definitely been open to remaking their classic RPGs. Several entries in the Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy series have received remakes over the years.
