Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) Leaks – Incomplete Look into Version 2.2
Of the 3 Hoyo games in the mainstream, ZZZ is perhaps the least forthcoming with information regarding future patches. As a result, leaks for 2.2 are somewhat less than helpful at this current stage. However, there is some amount of information available. While it might not be enough to give you a full picture of what’s to come, it should be sufficient to wet your whistle.
About ZZZ Leaks
All leaks are subject to change. As such, a full, in-depth, definitive analysis of a character, light cone, relic, or event would be ill-advised at this time. To that end, I’ll be covering the base level premise of each character so that you can make a moderately informed decision on which character(s) you want to prepare for.
Orphie and Magus
As one of the more dynamic of the Hoyo games, it’s hard to fully understand what a character in ZZZ does until you play them. Reading a kit description can only get you so far.
That said, from what we can glean based on the information available, Orphie is an S-Rank Fire Attack character who uses the dragon head gun on her tail (Magus) to deal damage. Her special energy mechanic (because everyone in ZZZ has some for a secondary energy mechanic) allows her to fire a continuous laser from Magus (rather like Burince’s Flamethrowers).
When Orphie and Magus are Off-Field, they can provide additional damage with Aftershock attacks (assuming their secondary energy mechanic levels are high enough). Her Core Passive increases her Aftershock damage and makes it so that some of her abilities are considered Aftershock attacks.
As for her Additional Ability, which is currently triggered if she is in a team with either a Stun or Support character, it provides a buff to the party when Orphie uses her EX-Special that increases Agents’ damage and allows them to ignore part of the enemy’s DEF.
Orphie and Magus are part of the Obol Squad faction.
Komano Manato
It is heavily implied that Manato will be playable in 2.2. However, as of right now, he is not available for testing in the beta (supposedly, he will be coming out next week). As such, information regarding his abilities is non-existent. There is some indication that his Attribute will be Fire and his Type will be Rupture, but take that with a massive grain of salt.
Seed
There is also some speculation that Seed will become playable in 2.2. How accurate this is has yet to be determined, but based on the abundance of data regarding their abilities, one particular leaker says that they are 99% sure. Take that with as much salt as you desire.
Orphie’s Currently Unnamed W-Engine
Orphie’s personal W-Engine. Provides Energy Regen as a secondary Stat. The passive increases CRIT Rate and provides a stackable buff that lets the wearer ignore part of the enemy’s DEF after launching an Aftershock attack.
Manato Unknown W-Engine
As with Manato, information regarding this W-Engine is currently unknown.
New Drive Disc (Name as of Yet Unknown)
As of now, the information for only 1 set has been released. This set provides Energy Regen with its 2-piece bonus and, when equipped to a Support character, its 4-piece bonus will increase the damage of the party upon the wearer using their EX Special or Ultimate.
New Enemies
There is some information regarding new foes that will appear in Version 2.2. There are 2 new soldier-type enemies who seem to have been overtaken by a red, parasitic vine-like entity. There is also a robot gunner that also seems to be corrupted by the same red parasite.
There is a new Notorious Hunt boss. As of now, its name is “The Demon and Ghost”. Its weaknesses are Aether and Physical, and it is resistant to Fire. She, too, looks as though she’s under the influence of the red parasite vines.
Event Overview
A full list of the events coming in 2.2 is not out yet, but from what is available, it seems there will be 2 new bangboos (one S and one A) to collect, new maps to explore, new accessories that can be added to the Phaethon siblings, and additions to the overall questlines. There will also be a Rhythm Event of some description. Joy…
