In Runescape: Dragonwilds, you will be tossed into an open-world co-op survival game where you can either party with three other friends or traverse through the game’s story solo. The world takes place on the continent “Ashenfall,” and in this land, you will focus on survival and crafting. The developers at Jagex are excited for long time fans of the series to experience something new for their favorite game but to bring it to life with stunning animations and styles for the different classes in the game, save the date for April 15, 2025 for a live stream featuring Jagex at 5 pm where they will discuss in depth detail on the game.

In Ashenfal,l an ancient threat of “Dragons” led by a “Dragon Queen” whom if the players wish to defeat then they must head north to stop her before their world is taken from them. On the way to the island, only a handful of survivors make it after disaster suddenly strikes, leading them to the island where they must craft and build in order to survive while they train to get stronger to defeat the dragon queen.

Does Runescape: Dragonwilds Have Classes?

As a player in the game, you will be able to select a class from the following, as suggested from the trailer found on Steam. The classes seem to be an Archer class, who is seen holding a bow and arrow in a few scenes from the trailer. Next, we have the iconic Soldier class, which is equipped with a sword and shield while wearing metal armor. Last, we have the Wizard/Sorcerer class, who is seen holding a staff. Now, there could be more to come later on when the game releases, but for now, that is up in the air, as well as these classes.

I only say that because since it is a survival crafting game it’s possible that every player has access to magic as well as crafting any weapon they’d like, furthermore in-game spells can be used to help you chop trees down and i could only assume to break stone as well.

Crafting In Runescape: Dragonwilds

When crafting in Runescape Dragonwilds like I mentioned before, you will be using magic to chop down trees and possibly to smash stone, but you’ll also be using magic for base building. Now, from the trailers, you can see an icon where the player has an axe equipped to them, but they use a magic axe instead, hitting two trees at once. That being said, I’m sure you will be given the option for both, but if your magic is low or to conserve magic, you might have to use a hand axe and chop it down like that, which will most likely just take longer than using magic would be.

Runescape: Dragonwilds, A Treat For The Fans

As a long-time player of Runescape, many fans will either love the new open-world experience or hate it; the same goes for the crafting element. But this is not your average RPG sometimes fans prefer the games or things the love the most to stay exactly how they were thinking it doesn’t need improvement and then their are the handful that accept that sometimes you have to change to evolve into something new and better and you’ll never know unless you take that leap of faith.
