Useful Tips
The Shiny Rayquaza Tera Raid will be a 5-star event, not their hardest but I doubt it will be easy to beat. Especially as it isn’t coming with a mark so again, won’t be too difficult. This Rayquaza will be a Dragon Tera Type, making it pure Dragon Type, unusual as you would expect it to be something to counteract its current type: Dragon and Flying. Since it’s going to be pure Dragon, it will have several options. Assuming Rayquaza will keep its standard stats, it will have a balance to its Special and Physical Defense to counter one on each stat:
- Azumarill will be a primary choice, if you have one or can catch one with Huge Power, teach it some physical Fairy-type moves and it will be able to throw down with Rayquaza easily, Huge Power and Belly Drum set up with Play Rough will send any Dragon Tera Type home crying. Equipping it with a Shell Bell to recover HP when it attacks will also allow for it to fill in as a tank roll as it will recover a good chunk of health.
- Sylveon will be another option with its hidden ability Pixilate and setting it up with a Calm Mind should give you an advantage as well as a special attacker. Shell Bell yet again to recover health. It won’t be as much of a tank as Azumarill but will do its share of damage, hopefully, enough to beat Rayquaza. Of course, with a Fairy Tera Type.
Assuming Rayquaza will be using STAB, when it arrives in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, having a Pokemon that can change into a Fairy Tera Type will nullify its Dragon attacks at the very least. I will be running both but would love to run my Shiny Sylveon. What will you be running? And are you going to take this chance to get a free Shiny Rayquaza?
