Sims 4 Confirms Death Expansion and More with New Road Map

In celebrations of the tenth anniversary of The Sims 4, Maxis and Electronic Arts have released an exciting new road map announcing forthcoming content for the game. Now confirming, a recently unsubstantiated leak about an upcoming expansion pack: officially dubbed, Life and Death. As well as, two exciting kits, a release event congruently themed around the expansion, and a free base game update. Ahead of even more details of upcoming additions, set to be announced in the coming months before the end of the holiday season -with the tagline of “To be continued,” setting the groundwork for everything coming soon.

Life and Death

Specific details for the Sims 4 new expansion pack are currently light, as promotions for the next add-on only include the announcement and promotional teasers. An official first-look trailer has been scheduled for release on October 3rd, via the official Sims4 YouTube channel; with more details set to drop the same day via the game’s website.

Speculations about the pack’s content include the possibility of two new freelance careers: being a psychic and taking on the role of the Grim Reaper, himself. As well as new “Life and Death” themed in-game assets, such as clothes, furniture, and décor; all centered around a possible inclusion of a heavenly realm and underworld in the game’s lore. The pack is set to be released on October 31, 2024, and will cost the standard price for expansions: $39.99.

Kits

Additionally, the Sims 4 will be offering two new kits that are set to be released on September 19th. The Storybook Nursery Kit; an addon centered around infants and toddlers; is already garnering tons of interest from those Simmers who play more family-focused gameplay. The Artist Studio Kit; themed around painting and artistic expression; has those with a penchant for color theory and creativity ready and waiting. While more details about the two new kits are still forthcoming, fans have already set their sights on grabbing them as soon as they launch. And, with a price point of only $4.99, it’s no wonder why.

Coming Soon

Maxis and EA have also announced a few more tidbits of information for even more upcoming releases and events for the Sim 4. To include an in-game event; dubbed “Reaper Rewards;” set to prepare simmers for the new expansion pack. It will go live on September 24th. Additionally, as with every major expansion pack the game will receive a free patch for the base game ahead of the release. To prepare for the integration of the new game aspects. As well as any technical adjustments needed to prime for new actions and interactions coming with the expansion.
