HuniePop 2: More Adult Content With Awesome Puzzles – Weekly Indie Spotlight
HuniePop 2: Double Date takes the addictive gameplay of the original HuniePop and expands on it in a natural way. Did you enjoy the hot women and mind-bending puzzles in the first game? If so, you should enjoy the sequel’s cool new gimmick? What is that gimmick? Double dating, of course!
HuniePop 2 and Hot Double Dating
HuniePop 2 features a new set of women to date on a tropical resort, plus a couple of characters you’ll recognize from the original game. This time around, you’ll be dating two characters at once, meaning you have to satisfy both of them. Just like in the first game, the dates are played out in match-3 puzzles with gameplay similar to Candy Crush, but much more complex.
As in the first game, each character has a preferred love element that they want you to match, which can get complicated when dating two women who prefer different things. In addition, there’s a new Stamina bar, meaning that you have a limited number of moves to succeed. This forces you to think ahead and plan out strategies instead of just making random matches. It’s more challenging than the first game, but challenging in a rewarding way.
This Game Is Trashy, and It Knows It
The HuniePop games are trashy in the best way. They embrace how they are all about dating and sleeping with hot women, and as such, they keep the characters appealing and the puzzles challenging without shame. In HuniePop 2, there’s even a loose storyline where you have to save the world, complete with a “final boss fight” where you date two demons at once. Yes, it’s as ridiculous as it sounds, and that’s why I love it.
In addition, the game carries its own cozy game vibes. Depending on the time of day, your dates might take place in a massage parlor, at a waterfall, on the beach, or in various other appealing locations, and you never know exactly where you’ll be going. This may be a dating sim where you play match-3 puzzles to go on dates and then go further, but it’s fiendishly addictive, and by the end, you won’t even be embarrassed to admit you like the game.

HuniePop and HuniePop 2 should be considered some of the best dating sims in history. You may initially be drawn in by the steaminess, but you’ll keep playing because you can’t get enough of the deep puzzle experience.
