Yummy Drink Factory from Aveyond Studios

Yummy Drink Factory: Stupid Name for a Great Game – Weekly Indie Spotlight

Judging by the title, Yummy Drink Factory sounds like a stupid, kiddie-centric game not worth the time of anyone over age six. While yes, the game has a cute, chill vibe to it, it is also incredibly charming and provides a strong challenge. If you love a good cup of hot chocolate or flavored coffee when the air gets chilly, this game is for you.

Concoct Magical Drinks in Yummy Drink Factory

Developed by Aveyond Studios, Yummy Drink Factory tells the story of Alexis, who accidentally angers a witch at a coffee shop. The witch casts a spell, transporting Alexis to a magical island, where she must serve hot drinks to fantastical creatures to earn her way home. You prepare each drink manually, juggling multiple orders at once and memorizing increasingly complex recipes.

As you progress through the game, you obtain different drink flavorings, whipped cream flavors, and toppings. You also gain new equipment such as blenders, more powerful drink machines, and even hot vanilla machines. More and more customers will place their orders at once, meaning you’ll have to juggle different drinks before, of course, they lose patience and leave without paying.

Cozy Fun for Fall and Winter

This is a great game to play when the temperature drops in the fall. I love me a warm, sweet drink during the cold weather seasons, and playing this game always makes me thirsty for some flavored hot chocolate. It’s like a combination of a cozy game and a game that puts your memorization and time management skills to the test. Moreover, there are three difficulty levels. You can choose whether you want to kick back and relax or rush to make as many drinks as possible.

You can also create your own drink recipes, which is fun to fool around with. The music is gorgeous, and the graphics are cute, creating an atmosphere that matches the magical setting. The only real complaint is the decoration system. You can buy decorations with gems, but certain gems only get unlocked as you progress. Also, if you take down a decoration, you have to rebuy it – there’s no option to save it.

Final Thoughts – This Game Will Make You Thirsty

Yummy Drink Factory taught me to never judge a game by its title. In fact, I might say the title killed a possible franchise – there is definitely potential for this world and concept to be expanded further, but that never happened. Perhaps the title Yummy Drink Factory turned people off. Still, even if we never got a sequel, we still have this charming individual game. It can be purchased from Aveyond Studios’ official site for $11.99.
