Spectrum and NRG Unite to Transform LA’s Gaming Scene

Spectrum and NRG

Spectrum and NRG announced this week that they are teaming up in an effort to redefine fan experiences in the world of esports. The companies have a history of working together but promise that this new collaboration will leverage their individual strengths to create an exciting new gaming environment for both esports players and fans. The expanded partnership will be seen first in Los Angeles, but will eventually reach from coast to coast.

A Spooky Way to Start

NRG, known for its presence in gaming, esports, and content creation, has signed a multi-year agreement with Spectrum, one of the nation’s largest broadband internet service providers. To kick off the collaboration, Spectrum and NRG hosted “Storm the Castle.”  The event, which transformed NRG Spectrum Castle into a gaming wonderland, was held on October 25 and 26. It featured a Minecraft-themed haunted house and an exclusive concert by West Coast rapper Super Duper Kyle

Big Things Are Coming

According to a media release, Spectrum and NRG will use the partnership to create innovative gaming experiences and content for fans across the United States. The plan is to combine NRG’s expertise in gaming entertainment with Spectrum’s internet service network to engage audiences in new and exciting ways.

Spectrum’s continued exclusive naming rights for the NRG Spectrum Castle in Los Angeles for the next three years is a centerpiece of the alliance. Already known as a gaming hub, Spectrum and NRG plan to make the Castle the epicenter of gaming culture in LA. As the exclusive TV, Internet, and Mobile provider for NRG, Spectrum powers the entire NRG ecosystem, including the NRG Spectrum Castle in Los Angeles and the organization’s esports training facility in Culver City.

The Castle Rules Supreme

Those who have seen it can attest that the Castle already stands as a testament to the collaboration between Spectrum and NRG. The companies are especially proud of the innovative 1V1 Octagon – a dedicated space for high-stakes competitions and engaging content creation.  To further highlight the collaboration, Spectrum’s branding will be prominently displayed on the jerseys of all seven NRG professional esports teams, ensuring widespread visibility across diverse gaming communities and reinforcing Spectrum’s commitment to the world of competitive gaming.

More Events To Come

“NRG and Spectrum are a perfect match,” said Sharon Peters, Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer for Spectrum. “NRG is consistently pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in gaming and esports. From the NRG Spectrum Castle to the Gaming Tour of America, we’re excited to bring our fastest and most reliable Internet and WiFi technology and NRG’s vision to life for gaming communities in Los Angeles and across the country.”

While the first event was in Los Angeles and focused on the Castle, the partnership between Spectrum and NRG will go much further. The reach will be global thanks to Full Squad Gaming, NRG’s casual gaming brand that has built a sizable TikTok presence. The Gaming Tour of America will also bring the NRG-Spectrum collaboration to fans nationwide through live activations, local influencer partnerships, and viral content creation.

More Than a Sponsorship

“What we’re creating isn’t just a sponsorship; it’s a revolution in how fans experience gaming and esports through Spectrum, the best Internet and WiFi choice for gamers,” said NRG Head of Sales and Brand Partnerships, Brandon Tortora. “The NRG Spectrum Castle will be more than a headquarters – it will be a must-visit destination for gamers. And with our Gaming Tour of America, we’re taking that magic on the road, interacting with fans and creating joyful moments in communities across the nation.”

The esports industry is constantly evolving, but Spectrum and NRG are confident their collaboration will set a new standard for fan engagement and brand integration. They hope integrating Spectrum’s services into NRG’s content and events, will demonstrate the crucial role of high-speed internet and mobile connectivity in modern gaming.
