We Need An Incredible Star Wars Battlefront 3

It might be difficult to find someone who hasn’t heard of Star Wars. Star Wars has a reputation for unfoolable success in the realm of video games. One of those incredible installments is the Star Wars Battlefront series. Star Wars has a firm fan base of over 13 million people worldwide.

The galaxy far, far away offers endless possibilities for players to participate in more than just great films but stories that share the classic conflict of good versus evil. Star Wars Battlefront I and II have changed the world. Will there be a third, or is the law of the Sith of two applying? “Always two, there are. No more. No less. A Master and an apprentice,” as Yoda famously said.

We Need More Star Wars Battlefront

The first installment, Star Wars Battlefront, was launched in 2004 by LucasArts, developed by Pandemic Studios, and co-developed by EA Dice. This first or third-person shooter sent players into a galaxy on fire representing the Galactic Republic against the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Galactic Empire versus the Rebel Alliance, and last of all, The First Order as opposed to The Resistance.

These battles span the universe, all thanks to EA Dice. Later, Star Wars Battlefront II was released, and by December 2017, it sold over 9 million copies worldwide. It brought more locations, characters, vehicles, champaign, and modes to enjoy.

Battlefront II holds the Guinness World Record for the best-selling sci-fi racing game and the second best-selling title in the United States. It also won Best Graphics and Best Audio awards at the Shooter of the Year Awards. Despite all this and more, Battlefront II was considered a failure because it didn’t meet EA sales expectations. Since then, most of the game developers have moved on to other projects, so any hopes of a Battlefront III are bleak.

Star Wars fans have received the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection, which combines remastered versions of the first two Pandemic-developed games. Since its release on March 14th, it has sold 223K units. Dice ended support for Battlefront II on April 28, 2020. Since then, there hasn’t been any word that LucasArts is doing anything for Star Wars Battlefront games except the Classic Collection. This proves that they are aware of the fan base’s desires.

Star Wars Battlefront III Used to Be in Development

Years ago, Battlefront III was in development and contracted to Free Radical to complete. The project was canceled due to their failure to meet deadlines. Once the project was canceled, they claimed the game was two years away from being completed. In terms of games, that means it was almost done.

Will there be a Battlefront III? The chances are good. And which developer will take the job? There is Dice, IMO, The Coalition, Insomniac, ID Software, Activision, Creative Assembly, Epic Games, and Arrowhead. Arrowhead is responsible for bringing Helldivers, which is a must-have game similar to Star Wars Battlefront. Other developers that would be great are Call of Duty Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games, and Treyarch.

Disney and LucasArts haven’t given any information about Battlefront III, dashing fans’ hopes. However, we do have other games to tide us over. Star Wars Outlaws is due to release on August 30th, and preorders are rolling in. Also, Star Wars Eclipse was announced during the Game Awards three years ago. It is set to be an action-adventure from Heavy Rain, Detroit: Become Human developer Quantic Dream, and Lucasfilm games. It takes place in the High Republic Era, way out in the Outer Rim, and is playable through different characters.

Then we have the Knights of the Old Republic remake, which is set to bring Darth Raven back from the much-loved RPG 2003 game from Aspyr and Lucasfilm Games. We also have Amy Hennig’s Star Wars game, which doesn’t have a title or a release date. Amy Hennig is the director of this game from Skydance New Media.

When Might We See Star Wars Battlefront III?

Disney has plans to push through new movies and series for the Star Wars universe, and game releases with movies have been very profitable in the past. Upcoming are the Mandalorian movie, Skeleton Crew, Andor Season 2, Ahsoka Season 2, and several other untitled films and shows.

There are plenty of opportunities for a Star Wars Battlefront III, and the best we can do is wait, hope, and keep hope that there is no such thing as luck but destiny. There isn’t a Star Wars fan in the world who wouldn’t pay to be holding a blaster or lightsaber in Star Wars Battlefront III.
