“No Spawn” Hack
According to IGN, the hack is preventing players from spawning during the forty-player matches. This means that they are unable to play the game. There are also reports of inappropriate messaging. While this particular hack has been going on in some form for months, in the last few days, it has apparently been infecting every mode in the game. Players have been flooding the Electronic Arts forums and the game’s subreddit, demanding a fix to this issue, but as of the writing of this article, EA still hasn’t tracked down the hacker or hackers responsible.
Star Wars Battlefront II Controversy
In the time leading up to its release in 2017, Star Wars Battlefront II was met with a swarm of controversies over its heavy reliance on microtransactions and loot boxes and how extra purchases would give players advantages in matches. In response to the controversy, EA removed loot boxes from the game right before release, and as time went by, a steady stream of updates helped elevate the game to a respected status for those who chose to stick around.
