As announced via the official @EAStarWars account, Bit Reactor is developing Zero Company—the team of XCOM veterans now teaming up with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games to bring some strategic brilliance to the battlefield. Think XCOM meets Star Wars, with all the clone trooper grit and warzone chaos your tactical heart could ask for.
While we don’t have a release date just yet (patience, Padawan), we do know when more details are coming—and it’s soon.
Eyes on Star Wars Celebration Japan
Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM JST. That’s when the Galaxy Stage at Star Wars Celebration Japan will host an exclusive panel:
“Bit Reactor Developer Panel featuring Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games.”
This panel will be the first official deep-dive into the game, giving fans a look at gameplay, story setup, and probably a Clone Wars-era nostalgia bomb big enough to blow up a Star Destroyer.
Tickets? Already sold out. So unless you’ve got a hyperdrive and a VIP pass, you’ll need to keep an eye on the official social media accounts and StarWars.com for coverage.
What We Know So Far
- It’s single-player and turn-based (finally, strategy fans get their fix)
- Platforms will be PC, Playstation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
- The game is set during the Clone Wars, meaning lots of clone troopers, Separatist droids, and maybe a Jedi cameo or two.
- Tactical squad control will likely be the focus, putting you in the boots of clone commanders making life-or-death decisions.
As the galaxy waits for more, fans are already theorizing: Will this tie into the larger canon? Could this be the next cult-favorite like Republic Commando or Empire at War?
We’ll know more on April 19.
