Stardew Valley is one of the most popular cozy video games. In this game, you run a homestead in a small farming town named Pelican Town, and your daily activities consist of farming, tending to animals, exploring, mining, interacting with townsfolk, and so much more. Whether you’re a completionist or not, the Stardew Valley Community Center is an area within the game that most players have encountered before. This building hosts a series of challenges for the player to complete where you must obtain a variety of items in exchange for rewards.
Unlocking The Stardew Valley Community Center
Players do not have access to the Stardew Valley Community Center right away. They first have to play through five in-game days until players could potentially witness a cutscene with the Mayor. The cutscene explains that the Community Center has been abandoned for a while. Upon exploring the building, you will come across a glowing yellow pad with strange text. To decipher it, pay a visit to the Wizard and drink from his cauldron. After doing this, you will understand the language on the pad. This reveals the first of the bundles: the Craft Room bundles.
Craft Room
The Craft Room bundle in the Stardew Valley Community Center is the easiest to complete. The Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter Foraging bundles require you to explore and pick up the seasonal crops scattered around the map. Completing these bundles gives you 30 seeds of the respective season. The Construction bundle in the Craft Room is completed with 99 stone, two stacks of wood, and 99 hardwood. The easiest way to obtain hardwood is in the Secret Woods where six large tree stumps respawn daily. Chop those with a copper axe or better to obtain hardwood. Cutting down Mahogany or Mystic trees will also reward hardwood.
The last Craft Room bundle in the Stardew Valley Community Center is the Exotic bundle, which rewards five Autumn’s Beauty upon completion. You must turn in five of these to obtain the reward: Cactus, Coconut, Cave Carrot, Red Mushroom, Purple Mushroom, Maple Syrup, Oak Resin, Pine Tar, and Morels. Maple Syrup, Oak Resin, and Pine Tar can all be acquired by tapping trees. To obtain Cactus and Coconut, you will have to unlock the Calico Desert, which requires the completion of the Vault bundle and repairing the bus. Red Mushrooms, Purple Mushrooms, and Cave Carrots can be found in the mines, and Morels are foraged in the Secret Woods during Spring.
Pantry
The Pantry bundle requires the player to plant unique crops and care for animals throughout the months. Completing this room gives you access to the Greenhouse. In Spring, you will want to grow and turn in a Parsnip, Cauliflower, Green Bean, and Potato for a reward of 20 Speed-Gro. In Summer, you will want to grow and turn in a Melon, Hot Pepper, Blueberry, and Tomato for a Quality Sprinkler. In the Fall, you will want to grow and turn in a Yam, Pumpkin, Corn, and Eggplant for a Bee House. The Quality Crops bundle requires 5 gold-quality Parsnips, Melons, Pumpkins, and Corn, so don’t forget to obtain those during their seasons! This bundle will reward the Preserves Jar.
The Animal bundle in the Stardew Valley Community Center, rewarding a Cheese Press upon completion, requires five of the following: Large Milk, Large Brown Egg, Wool, Large Egg, Duck Egg, or Large Goat Milk. You must obtain a cow, chicken, sheep, duck, or goat to obtain most of the items. Lastly, the Artisan bundle requires five of the following: Cloth, Honey, Jelly, Goat Cheese, Cheese, Apple, Apricot, Orange, Cherry, Peach, or Pomegranate. The fruits will need to be grown on trees on your farm, and Honey requires the completion of the Fall Crops Pantry bundle. Cloth, Goat Cheese, and Cheese require Sheep, Goats, and Cows respectively. Jelly is made from the Preserves Jar rewarded from the Quality Crops bundle.
Boiler Room
The Mines are where you will find most of this bundle’s items in the Stardew Valley Community Center. The Geologist’s bundle requires Quartz, Frozen Tear, Earth Crystal, and Fire Quartz. The reward for completing this bundle is five Omni Geodes. The Adventure Bundle, which rewards a Small Magnet Ring, is complete by killing monsters in the Mines. The requirements consist of 99 Slime, 10 bat wings, Void Essence, and Solar Essence. Lastly, smelt some Gold, Copper, and Iron to get a Furnace from the Blacksmith bundle. Completing this room will grant you access to the Minecarts around town. These grant the player fast transportation.
Fish Tank
Completing the Fish Tank in the Stardew Valley Community Center grants access to Panning in the mountains. You’ll need a Sardine, Red Snapper, Tuna, and Tilapia to complete the Ocean Fish bundle. Doing so rewards five Beach Warp Totems. The River Fish bundle, which rewards 30 bait, requires a Catfish, Sunfish, Shad, and Tiger Trout. The Lake Fish bundle needs Carp, Sturgeon, Largemouth Bass, and Bullhead. The Night Fishing bundle in the Stardew Valley Community Center asks the player for an Eel, Walleye, and Bream in exchange for a Small Glow Ring. Five Dish o’ the Sea will be rewarded upon completing the Specialty Fish bundle that asks for Pufferfish, Ghostfish, Sandfish, and Woodskip.
The Crab Pot bundle is a bit trickier to complete. First, craft some Crab Pots using Wood and Iron, or buy one from Willy for 1,200g. Then you will place them into water (freshwater and saltwater both work) and put some bait inside. Soon, you will have a catch. For the Crab Pot bundle, you must turn in five of the following: Clam, Oyster, Shrimp, Periwinkle, Lobster, Crab, Mussel, Cockle, Crayfish, or Snail. If you can’t afford Crab Pots, you can also forage on the beach for Mussel, Cockle, Oyster, and Clam. You can sometimes obtain a Crab from fighting crab-type enemies in the Mines. Completing this Stardew Valley Community Center room will grant the player three additional Crab Pots.
Bulletin Board
The Bulletin Board is the epicenter of Pelican’s townsfolk. Completing this bundle will grant the player 500 additional friendship points towards every non-datable NPC. The Fodder Bundle, which rewards a Heater when completed, requires 10 Wheat, 10 Hay, and three Apples. The Field Research bundle in the Stardew Valley Community Center requires a Nautilus Shell, Purple Mushroom, Chub, and Frozen Geode in trade for a Recycling Machine. The Enchanter’s bundle requires Wine, Rabbit’s Foot, Oak Resin, and Pomegranate and rewards five Gold Bars.
The Dye bundle, which rewards the useful Seed Maker, requires a Red Cabbage, Sea Urchin, Sunflower, Red Mushroom, Duck Feather, and Aquamarine. Red Cabbage is available for purchase starting in the Summer of year two. The Chef’s bundle should be your next target if you require three Pink Cakes. In this Stardew Valley Community Center room, you must obtain a Truffle, Maki Roll, Poppy, Fiddlehead Fern, Fried Egg, and Maple Syrup. There are 21 non-datable NPCs in the game. Completing this room will grant a huge boost to those friendships and strengthen your bond with the town as a whole.
Vault
The Vault bundle within the Stardew Valley Community Center is the most straightforward to complete. All you need to do is pay gold to complete this bundle. Paying 2,500g rewards you with three Chocolate Cakes. Pay 5,000g for 30 Quality Fertilizer. Paying 10,000g rewards the player with a Lightning Rod. Finally, sacrificing 25,000g rewards the rare Crystalarium. The amount of gold spent in this room totals 42,500g. That’s a hefty price, but it’s worth it to complete the restoration of the Stardew Valley Community Center.
Abandoned Jojamart
This bundle, otherwise dubbed the secret Missing Bundle, will unlock after a stormy night. For this bundle to pop up, lightning must hit the abandoned Jojamart in a cutscene. Any of the following items can be turned in to receive access to the Movie Theater. These items are Dinosaur Mayonnaise, gold-quality Void Salmon, five gold-quality Ancient Fruit, Prismatic Shard, Caviar, and any silver or higher-quality Wine. As stated, the Movie Theater will be unlocked once this bundle is complete. You can invite townsfolk to watch movies with you here and play the crane minigame for a chance at some rewards.
Remixed Bundles And Closing Thoughts
Returning players may find the monotonous grind of the Stardew Valley Community Center to be a drag. That’s why in Update 1.5, Stardew Valley introduced the Remixed Bundles feature. This allows players to randomize some bundles’ requirements and refreshes the game for players who have done multiple playthroughs. Some rooms in the Stardew Valley Community Center are purely optional, however many unlock core parts of the game. The Community Center is a fun challenge to many gamers.
