Teamfight Tactics Set 14: Card Offerings From A Sneaky Card Shark

Teamfight Tactics Card Shark

Twisted Fate is a two-cost unit in Teamfight Tactics Set 14. Like his League of Legends counterpart, cards are the vessel he uses to eliminate his enemies. “Can I offer you a card? Any card? How about 100 of them?” – Twisted Fate, probably. Getting him to deal out as many cards as possible is the predominant goal for this composition. Today, we learn how to do that to the best of our abilities.

As Twisted Fate is a two-cost unit, we will be rerolling at level six to have the highest chance of hitting enough copies. The best way to maximize Twisted Fate’s effectiveness is by playing around the Syndicate trait. Syndicate allows you to choose between one and two Kingpins depending on whether you have three or five Syndicates in your composition. The Syndicate units are Shaco, Darius, Twisted Fate, Braum, and Miss Fortune. If you get a Syndicate Emblem, Shaco is the first unit you drop from the composition.

Twisted Fate’s Syndicate bonus makes him throw a random card at his current target. The Red card deals damage in a one-hex area, the Blue card deals fifty percent true damage, and the rare Yellow card grants one gold. Twisted Fate also has a passive that grants him Ability Power per attack during combat, which makes Guinsoo’s Rageblade crucial to build on him.

Card Shark Early Game

Rapidfire with Vanguard is the best opener in the early game to ensure you play around tempo. Having Skarner and Kog’Maw will help to significantly increase your win chances since the early game damage from Boombots is high. Prioritize building Twisted Fate items at this stage (Double Guinsoo’s Rageblade and Hextech Gunblade). A two-star Kog’Maw will perform better than a one-star Twisted Fate.

As you progress through Stage Two, pick up any Syndicate units and copies of Twisted Fate and Darius. Be wary of your economy while you do this, as you do not want to harm it too much if it prevents you from comfortably leveling to six in Stage Three. Being level six as soon as possible with fifty gold will make your life easier in finding your three-star units.

Card Shark Mid-Game

Once you reach level six, you want to slow roll above fifty gold to find three-star Twisted Fate and Darius. Hitting three-star Kog’Maw and Skarner is nice, but you will not find them in every game and should be considered a luxury. Twisted Fate, Braum, Skarner, Darius, Gragas, and Kog’Maw are the units for your level six board. If you can not find Braum or Gragas, Shaco and another Bruiser are solid replacements. Only roll beyond fifty gold if you need to stabilize your board.

If you have gotten the correct components, you should have your three items built on Twisted Fate and, ideally, place tank items on whichever is your leveled-up frontline (Braum, Gragas, Darius, or Skarner). The combination of a fully itemized Twisted Fate and bulky frontline should help win fights in the mid-game.

Card Shark Late Game

By this point, you should have three-star Twisted Fate and Darius. If you have not found three-star Skarner or Kog’Maw, do not continue to roll for them. Instead, put the excess gold into leveling to eight. You want five Syndicates in for the bonus stats and extra Kingpin hat, which will go on three-star Darius. If you did not hit three-star Darius, the Kingpin hat and tank items go to Braum.

Replace Skarner and Kog’Maw, if they are not three-star, with Zeri and Leona. These two units will cap out your board more than the unupgraded Boombots. Zeri can use Stattik Shiv for Shred, and Miss Fortune gets the leftover AD items. Once you have a stable level eight board, move to level nine to add Garen, Renekton, or Aurora.

When to Play Card Shark

An early Guinsoo’s Rageblade is necessary for Card Shark to be a playable composition. However, just because you have the item does not mean you are guaranteed to play the composition. There are several Rageblade users in this set (Vayne, Zeri, Aphelios, Kog’Maw), so it could be an indicator for any of those compositions. Early Twisted Fate copies alongside Syndicates and Kog’Maw will be a significant sign.

If you get a Syndicate Augment like Dummy with a Gun or Keep Your Friends Close, that will be another criterion to play it. The Vi encounter is another aspect to look out for, as the two-component anvils allow you to choose your ideal items.

Best Augments to Take

Card Shark is an ideal composition to play with Starry Night. The crux of the compositions has a one-cost unit and three two-cost costs. Starry Night will make it significantly easier to find additional copies. Heroic Grab Bag is another solid option, as it gives two guaranteed copies of units of your choice. The Silver Pandora’s Items are an excellent choice when you do not have perfect items. Other than these Augments, anything that increases Attack Speed, like Pumping Up and Anger Issues, is a consideration. Piercing Lotus III will also help to increase Twisted Fate’s damage and ensure you have Shred and Sunder for your Composition.
