Teamfight Tactics Set 14: Successfully Cease and Desist Your Opponents to Low-Roll Jail

Teamfight Tactics Cease and Desist

Vi’s ability in Teamfight Tactics Set 14 Cyber City has little creativity. She gains a shield and deals bonus damage on her next auto-attack. While she is one of the best early-game tanks, she rarely appears in late-game compositions. However, there is one situation where it is different. Vi’s Hero Augment, Cease, and Desist turns her into the carry unit of a composition. Vi’s ability becomes the same as her ultimate ability in League of Legends.

Vi is a one-cost unit, which means you are playing a one-cost reroll composition. Reaching level five as soon as possible while maintaining your economy will go a long way. The composition plays predominantly around Vi’s tank trait, Vanguard. Cease and Desist gives Vi additional attack speed, and her ability targets the farthest enemy in a three-hex range. Upon reaching the enemy, Vi stuns them and deals Physical Damage. The secondary carries for the composition depend on what other players play in your lobby. The first choice is Vayne, but you can pivot to Senna, Xayah, or Aurora.

Cease and Desist Early Game

As with most one-cost reroll compositions, you want to collect as many copies of Vi and other Vanguards as you maintain your economy. You can play Cypher early and go for an early loss streak. However, you are looking to cash out Cypher early to gain a boost instead of looking for significant benefits. With the loss streak strategy, you can guarantee you get at least one of the components you need for your Vi carry.

Vi is an AD fighter, so you want to give her items that allow her to sustain herself in fights. Bloodthirster, Sterak’s Gage, and Titan’s Resolve are ideal for her. Hand of Justice, Infinity Edge, and Giant Slayer are alternatives. Sylas is the other one-cost unit you can reroll, but hitting him is not a priority.

Cease and Desist Mid-Game

In Stage Three, you want to reach level five and slow roll above fifty gold to hit three-star Vi. If you started the game with a loss streak with Cypher, cash out at 3-3 to ensure you win combats. While hitting three-star Vanguard will help your frontline, it is not needed, and you should only go for them if you are comfortably hitting Vi with a stable economy. Collect Vayne copies while you roll for Vi. Once you find three-star Vi, start to put excess gold into levels. If you are close to hitting Vayne, you can stay at level six to get her. If not, go straight to level eight.

Cease and Desist Late Game

Your level eight composition plays around six Vanguards, your carry (Vayne, Senna, Xayah, or Aurora), and Garen. Hitting Garen on level eight is somewhat of a high roll, but if you find him early, you can start to stack his mods. Vanguard mod goes to Garen, and Vi can use Slayer or Anima Squad mod for the extra stats. The one Vanguard you leave out in this composition is Skarner, since he offers nothing beyond being a Vanguard. Sylas offers Anima Squad, and Rhaast gives Divinicorp.

Vayne Carry wants Double Guinsoo’s Rageblade and Runaan’s Hurricane. Senna and Xayah want Pure AD, and Aurora can use most AP items. Tank items go to your best tank, which in most cases is Leona, but where you have a three-star Jarvan with Vayne or Senna carry, he will do more work than Leona. You can also place tank or fighter items on Garen if you have leftovers.

When to Play Cease and Desist

You can only play this composition with the Cease and Desist Augment. The question often comes when you should take the Augment if offered. You want a significant number of items. The Vi encounter will give you additional chances to find your best-in-slot items for Vi. The benefit of this composition is that most players will not reroll her without the Augment. As a result, you should have no trouble finding your three-star Vi.

Best Augments to Take

One of the best Augments for Vanguard compositions is Lineup, which grants two Armor and Magic Resist for every unit in the front two rows. Given you will have at least six in the frontline, that is at least twelve Armor and Magic Resist to all your units. On top of the bonus from Rhaast and the durability Vanguards get while shielded, your frontline will become a chore to take down. Starry Night will help you find your units significantly faster. Inspiring Epitaph and Bulky Buddies will give Vi vital stats. The attack speed, health, and shields make her durable and allow Vi to cast as many times as possible during fights.
