Sushi Go!

Sushi Go! is one of the best board games for families, thanks to its fast pace! Each player selects a card to keep from their hand and then passes the remaining cards to the next player. This continues until all cards have been played, with the goal of making the best sushi combinations.

  • Sushi Go! was designed for 2 to 5 players.
  • The game is suitable for ages 8 and up. Its simple rules make it a great option for kids but it’s still engaging for older family members!
  • Each round of this game lasts about 15 minutes.

Wingspan

Wingspan is one of my favorite games! I may be a bit biased because I’m a wildlife photographer and adore birds, but it’s a game with goal of attracting birds to your wildlife reserve by using food and habitat resources.

Each player manages a nature preserve, trying to create the best environment for various bird species. With over 170 unique bird cards, the game offers a rich and varied experience each time you play.

  • Wingspan was made for 2 to 5 players.
  • The game is made for ages 10 and up. However, the game’s complexity and need for strategy make it mostly appealing to older children and adults.
  • A round usually lasts between 40 to 70 minutes. This duration provides enough time to get into the game without feeling too long.

Camel Up

Camel Up is a racing game where players bet on camels in a race around a pyramid. In this game, you don’t control the camels directly. Instead, you wager on which camels will win or lose the race. The game’s centerpiece is a pyramid-shaped dice shaker that determines the movement of the camels, adding an element of chance and excitement.

  • Camel Up was made for 3 to 7 players. This is one of the higher player amounts on this list. I like this because it means no one has to sit out!
  • This game is suitable for players aged 8 and up. Its simple rules make it great for children but its strategic elements mean adults will be engaged and entertained as well.
  • A typical round lasts between 30 to 45 minutes. This duration is perfect for keeping everyone’s attention without dragging on too long.

Kingdomino

Kingdomino is a tile-laying game where players build their own kingdoms by matching different terrain types. Players draw and place domino-style tiles, each featuring a combination of terrains like forests, lakes, and fields, to create a 5×5 grid kingdom. The aim is to create the highest-scoring kingdom by strategically placing tiles to maximize the value of each terrain type.

  • Kingdomino is designed for 2 to 4 players, making it a great board game for families.
  • The game is suitable for players aged 8 and up.
  • A typical game lasts between 15 to 20 minutes. This short duration makes it ideal for those who want a quick game session or for those who like to play multiple rounds.
