Gaming fans have high expectations for this year since 2023 was one of the biggest years in video game releases that we’ve seen for some time. I will say, I’m excited for what the rest of this year has to bring because, in my opinion, some of the best games of 2024 have already been released!
2024 started strong, featuring titles that many people didn’t have a lot of hope for but turned out to be amazing. Let’s take a look at the list I put together, there’s some titles you’ve probably heard of and others you may not have.
Be sure that you’re going into this with an open mind. Who knows maybe you’ll find a new game to love!
The Best Games of 2024
Here are the best games of 2024 so far.
1. Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden
Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is a game that has a beautiful blend of action, adventure, and RPG elements. This title has a fascinating storyline set in a dark, atmospheric world along with difficult skill-based combat that focuses on player choice and strategy.
2. Ultros
Ultros is an adventure indie game that features visually stunning environments where players work to unlock new areas by fighting bosses and finding hidden locations. The game also incorporates unique mechanics like harvesting resources from defeated enemies and gardening, where blooming flowers reveal new paths.
3. Helldivers 2
Helldivers 2 is a third-person shooter that has players join the Super Earth Armed Forces to fight in a space war. The enemies are cyborgs and monstrous-looking bugs. Additionally, this title is known for its humorous elements and friendly fire accidents, adding a layer of unpredictability to each mission.
4. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
This RPG video game follows the adventures of a character named Ichiban Kasuga. The game has a wonderful story that blends heartfelt narratives with amusing combat scenarios well. Players will also play various mini-games and participate in other activities that do a great job of adding depth and variety.

5. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown brings back the franchise with a new character, Sargon, who is on a mission to rescue a prince. The game features a map filled with shortcuts, secret rooms, and challenging puzzles. Combat can be tricky so you’ll need precision and skill.
6. Palworld
Palworld is loved by many thanks to its similarity to Pokémon. However, don’t let that scare you, this title isn’t just another knock-off! The early access game has the perfect blend of creature collection and open-world exploration.
Additionally, it has darker and more mature themes. Players can catch, train, and fight creatures called “Pals,” and for my cozy game lovers, there’s also crafting and building!
