The Biggest UFC 5 Update Is On The Way

EA Sports announced recently that UFC 5 will be undergoing a series of updates over the next few months. At launch, EA said they would work to get as many top-rated and fan-favorite fighters into the game as possible. Starting April 4, 2024, through June, EA will be adding 30 fighters, with the biggest roster expansion in franchise history. Let’s go over what each update is going to bring, with the first one coming on April 4, 2024.

April 4 Update

the early April update will provide you with 9 new characters for you to play as. They are as follows:

  • Brendan Allen (#6 MW)
  • Tracy Cortez (#11 WFW)
  • Movsar Evloev (#5 Featherweight)
  • Diago Lopez
  • Muhammad Mokaev (#7 Flyweight)
  • Geoff Neal (#10 WW)
  • Umar Nurmagomedov (#10 BW)
  • Marina Rodriguez (#6 WSW)
  • Serghei Spivac (#9 HW)

We have numerous ranked fighters here along with the surging Diago Lopez with his potent ground game. Most of these fighters are ranked pretty high within UCF, there are bound to be a few fan favorites on this list. If you don’t see a name on here, don’t get discouraged as there will be a few more updates coming. This is the first of several more updates with another one in April, followed by one in May, and the last one in June.

Late April

In late April, we’re going to get another sizable update with 9 more fighters. As I have said above, there is no set date for when this update will launch. So keep an eye out. Let’s take a look at the fighters on this list:

  • Drew Dober (#15 LW)
  • Stephen Erceg (#10 flyweight)
  • Nassourdine Imavov (#8 MW)
  • Virna Jandiroba (#5 WSW)
  • Manel Kape (#6 flyweight)
  • Matheus Nicolau (#5 flyweight)
  • “MVP” Michael Page (#13 WW)
  • Natalia Silva (#8 WFW)
  • Marcin Tybura (#8 HW)

We see our first Heavyweight addition with Marcin Tybura.

May

The May update doesn’t bring a whole lot, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be a favorite or two.

  • Benoit Saint Denis (#11 LW)
  • Roman Dolidze (#9 MW)
  • Anthony Hernandez (#12 MW)

Like I said, this won’t be a massive update. This would be the update I would keep an eye on, some of the fighters from April may show up in May as the release of those fighters is subject to change.

June

https://://gty.im/498342546

In June, we’ll have the biggest update. While there is no release date, it doesn’t mean this might be broken down into different updates in June. We will be receiving 13 new fighters. Let’s dive right into it:

  • Mario Bautista (#13 BW)
  • Caio Borralho (#15 MW)
  • Randy Brown
  • Joaquin Buckley (#11 WW)
  • Chris Curtis (#14 MW)
  • Norma Dumont (#11 WBW)
  • Loopy Dodinez (#10 WSW)
  • Kayla Harrison
  • Pannie Kianzad (#9 WBW)
  • Jonathan Martinez (#14 BW)
  • Michel Pereira
  • Alexandr Romanov (#13 HW)
  • Tagir Ulanbekov (#12 flyweight)

After these updates, EA will return to their usual schedule of 2-3 fighters to keep up with the rankings. If you like UFC, there isn’t a better time than now to get into this game! EA released additional patch notes dealing with balancing game mechanics, you can check it out here!
