Mortal Kombat 1 is on the way to adding another guest character out of the three for the first Kombat pack to its roster. We have Omni-Man from the animated TV series Invincible, and Peacemaker voiced by John Cena. So who is our next lucky and devious character joining the fray? That character would be Homelander, flying in from the American TV series The Boys. Homelander is the next addition to Mortal Kombat 1. Little is known regarding his move list in the game, but overall, as a character, he might have plenty to offer for his gruesome challengers.
Who is Homelander?
Homelander is one of the main villains from the TV and comic book series The Boys played by actor Antony Starr. He is what you consider, a superhero gone rogue, prone to violence and brutality. He possesses various abilities including laser eyes, x-ray vision, superhuman strength, and durability.
He serves as the leader of a superhero group called The Seven and the chairman of Vought International. However, his leadership skills are questionable considering the lengths he’ll go to keep a good standing for himself and his group. He is needlessly violent, and ruthless, and will have no problem threatening those who stand against him, even his teammates.
How will he fair against a roster of deadly fighters in the most deadly tournament to come to consoles? He looks the part and absolutely has the power and tendencies of a Mortal Kombat fighter.
First Glance of Homelander
Recently a trailer was released showcasing a first look of Homelander’s gameplay on Mortal Kombat 1. However, little was shown except his interaction with Fire God Liu Kang and his two supposed fatalities, specifically burning someone’s face off with laser eyes, and uppercutting them into the sky just to get splattered by an airplane.
There’s still more to reveal about the rest of his gameplay, which may be released in another trailer. As far as the character himself, it was confirmed by Starr that he won’t be voicing him in the game, considering he plays the role of Homelander for the TV show.
New Kombat Opportunities
With the arrival of Homelander soon to come, while the characters Omni-Man and Peacemaker are currently available, the level of interest from this couldn’t get any greater. Homelander vs. Omni-Man or Peacekeeper could serve as excellent match-ups since all three are capable of sheer brutality.
The Boys will be returning this upcoming June for season 4, and it’s a greater time than ever to showcase the star character and antagonist for the iconic fighting game franchise. As for Mortal Kombat 1, it’s currently available on Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox, and Playstation, so get ready to test your might.
