The Legend of Zelda’s 3 Best Companions

Fi, a companion from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Over the decades, The Legend of Zelda has given Link a multitude of companions. He’s been helped by everyone from a fairy to the ghost of his former soldier counterparts. These games are not the simplest to play, so Nintendo has given players some help in the form of a companion in quite a few games. They exist to point out things, give hints, provide services, and improve the gameplay experience.

Not every game in this iconic franchise has a companion, which helps make some of them stand out. Not every single companion is as useful as others, either. Throughout all 29 games, these helpers stand out as the best that Link has ever had in this iconic game series

3) Fi from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Fi might have been a little bit overbearing, but it’s better to be too helpful than not helpful at all. She had all the answers you might have needed as you played through the origin of this franchise. She also provided you with extremely helpful abilities such as dowsing. With this, you could target and find items you needed. That was vital for a game like Skyward Sword, and she proved to be instrumental in that game mechanic. We can overlook the negatives because of that. She was also as devoted as they come, even going with Link to face certain death against Demise

2) Revali from Breath of the Wild

Revali is one of several companions that Link has had in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. All of the champions and their descendants eventually join Link’s quest, but he remains the best out of all of them. His ability to propel Link up into the sky at a moment’s notice is unrivaled. One of the only complaints about Tears of the Kingdom was that Revali was replaced by Tulin. Tulin was helpful, but not like Revali. There’s plenty to climb in this version of Hyrule, and his boost saved so much stamina when traversing vertically.

1) Navi from Ocarina of Time

No companion has been quite so helpful and iconic as Navi from Ocarina of Time. From the iconic cry, “Listen!” to the simple fact that she allowed Link to target and continually face his enemies, this fairy is unrivaled. It was a real shame when the opening to Majora’s Mask involved her getting lost and eventually replaced by Tatl. Navi was also the first major companion for Link in any game, so she deserves some credit for laying the blueprint. There have been several different aids in the 26 years since Ocarina of Time was released, and Navi still stands above them all.
