Tier List of Zenless Zone Zero’s Best Agents

Zenless Zone Zero, Agent Tier

Agents are the bread and butter of Zenless Zone Zero. They are all unique in their skills, abilities, and fighting styles. However, some are made to be better than others. With that being said let this tier list be a sort of… guide to help you decide on getting the best of the best, but also, every agent is useful and can turn the tide of any commission or grind so feel free to pick and choose so you can get who you want.

Next to them, I will have their rank and if they are Premium (Mainly Banner drops) or Free-to-Play (F2P, or the fact you will get them for FREE and not have to wait for a banner.) I will point out mainly what they are good at but if they have significant reasons why they aren’t viable, I’ll list those as well. At the bottom, I will have characters that are leaked and have yet to be released along with their leaked drop date. With that, let’s get into the tier list.

Quick Note: All agents will be at 0 for the Mindscape, so no extending buffs. This is to just assume that you are pulling them ONCE and that they will be at their base maxed level and stats.

DPS
  • Ellen Joe (S-Rank, Premium) – Ice Attacker – Ellen swam into ZZZ with the first round of banners. Ellen is one of the best melee users for DPS once you get her charges and combos down. Ellen comes with a High Crit Rate and damage that allows her to freeze her enemies and shatter them for bigger damage. She has a charge when you initiate her Roaming State, it will give her charges and allow her attacks to be infused with Ice Damage.
  • Zhu Yuan (S-Rank, Premium) – Ether Attacker – Zhu Yuan stepped into action after Ellen, allowing her to follow up the shark thiren.  Zhu Yuan is a ranged DPS attacker who specializes in Ether and uses it to her advantage. Her EX gives her special shots that can unleash Ether damage easily. Being an agile character she can shoot from a range, close in for a melee attack, then push herself back to shoot again.
  • Jane Doe (New with 1.1, Premium) – Assault Anomaly – Jane arrived in 1.1. Jane is an Anomaly DPS, She deals damage with stacking physical Anomaly and dealing massive damage. Once you get used to maintaining all of her buffs she is a force to be reckoned with allowing you to sweep easily. She is rough to maintain as currently her main teams are S-Rank with a Seth being a good toss-in.
Stun
  • Lycaon (S-Rank) – Ice Stun – He can commit to wonderful debuffs with his charge attacks allowing Ice users to deal more damage all the while stunning his enemies to stop them in their tracks. Since he is Ice he can build the anomaly for freezing and shattering.
  • Qingyi (S-Rank, Premium) – Electric Stun – She is a Stun Agent capable of stunning her enemies and increasing her own DPS in the process. Her only caveat is she is to be on the field to maximize her, and that will cause you to choose a team to prioritize her unless you are using her only to stun.
  • Koleda (S-Rank, Premium) – Fire Stun – Koleda is very good at hitting for daze gaining a temporary invincibility to allow her to ignore damage to ignore dodging.
Support
  • Nicole (A-Rank, Free-to-Play) – Ether Support – She is a range Ether debuff. She excels at defence debuffs all the while she increases squadmates’ Ether Damage! She is a walking glass cannon (meaning she is all attack but barely any health, which kinda fits her and her attitude, all in or all out!), but her ability to ignore DEF makes her valuable as a support.
  • Grace (S-Rank, Premium) – Electric Anomaly – Grace is a perfect support and DPS combo, She utilizes stacking electric for the shock debuff. She is mobile and very fluid with her kit. The mobility she produces when you play her allows her to be one of the most mobile characters so far. Her ultimate grenade AOE inflicts devastating electricity for her debuff.
  • Seth (A-Rank, Premium, New to 1.1) – Electric Defender – Seth is great at setting up shields, allowing for anomaly stacking buffs for his teammates, a heavy support for Anomaly teams! His entire kit is to buff and get off the field, making him a perfect companion for Jane Doe.
  • Soukaku (A-Rank, F2P) – Ice Support – Soukaku is a powerful support! Her special attack, Fly the Flag, is dependent on stacks of Vortex she has accumulated from Chain Attacks, Special or Ultimate. She will slam it down and deal ice damage all the while BUFFING your Ice users with 20% if you consume all 3 charges. She can grant herself a 1000 flat ATK buff that can be transferred between others with an ATK chain to whoever is in front of her in the party, and it doesn’t even have to be an Ice user! Just make sure to bring snacks, she is hungry all the time.
  •  Burnice (S-Rank, Premium) – Burnice is a top-tier support as she can leave her enemies burning even while she is off the field. You hop onto the field as Burnice, set your enemies ablaze, and leave the rest to your DPS.
  • Caesar (S-Rank, Premium) – Using Caesar’s kit is easy and simple, once you hit a parry with her you set up a buff to go to your teammates and can easily apply a heavy buff to her teammates.

Tier A

DPS
  • Nekomata (S-Rank, Premium) – Physical Attack – Nekomata was one of the first DPS roles in ZZZ. She has a wonderful ability to buff herself after the usage of an EX Skill or Ultimate, without it however she will be doing the same overall damage. The reason why she isn’t higher up is there are so many others who fulfill her role better and that’s only because she is strictly limited by her team creation as of currently.
  • Soldier 11 (S-Rank, Premium) – Fire Attack –  Currently only Fire DPS. Very easy to get the hang of and even fun to play. She is very flexible with her team comps. She has the same issue and Nekomata, Soldier 11 is limited by her team choice, while she can currently bounce around, there is no one from her faction limiting her to only using other fire users.
  • Piper (A-Rank. Premium) – Physical Anomaly – She is capable of dealing Flinched state thanks to her physical anomaly buildup. She can even give a buff 18% damage buff to herself and her team! So far her only negative quality is having to compete with other A-Rank DPS Agents but overall not bad, Lucy will be her only companion (currently until 1.2.)
Stun
  • Anby (A-Rank, Free-to-play) – Electric Stun – Anby is a F2P Agent who with her combos can create daze and stunning capabilities. Anby does less stun than her other counterparts making her have very heavy competition. However, her kit is very beginner-friendly.
Support
  • Lucy (A-Rank, Premium, Will drop in 1.2 from Overlord’s Event for free recruitment!) – Fire Support – Very fun and easy to use. She has pet boars that can attack to deal damage as they stay on the field even while Lucy isn’t. She can grant her whole squad a flat 600 ATK buff.  The only issue is she has to have a high ATK in order to give her allies the flat ATK buff.
  • Rina (S-Rank, Premium) – Electric Support – She is an Electric Range Support. She can set up PEN ratio while her Bangboos are on the field to a max of 30% to increase her ally’s damage.  The main issue is her bangboos will be occupied most of the time so the buffs will be delayed at some points due to waiting for them to return. But she can also help by building up Electro Anomaly.

Tier B

DPS
  • Anton (A-Rank, Premium) – Electric Attack – Anton is a good Electric Melee DPS relying on critical hits. As of release, he is top contending for shock teams but he is VERY reliant on energy. He can keep up a nice close rang AOE if you can keep up the energy however. His Mindscapes make him very useful, but that’s if you will be lucky to get him or pull for him specifically.
  • Billy (A-Rank, F2P) – Physical Attack – Billy is a Physical Range DPS. Very mobile and fun to play. Very easy to understand how to play. Needs a physical or Cunning Hare to activate his core passive, isn’t bad but limits him like the rest. Has to compete with other A-Rank Physical Attackers.
  • Corrin (A-Rank, Premium) – Physical Attack – Corrin is a Physical Melee Attacker. She can synergize with others from her faction, Victoria Housekeeping. She has an easy kit to understand. One of her combos involves her putting up her weapon and letting it spin. She is another glass cannon.  But being brutally honest, right now, there are other options that are better than hers in terms of versatility. Sorry, Corrin!
Support
  • Ben (A-Rank, Premium) – Fire Defense – Ben is a Fire Melee Agent. He gives a team-wide shield. He grants other Fire and Belobog agents a 16% Crit Rate while the shield is active. His attacks are one of the slowest making it a bit of a hindrance but once paired up with viable allies should make it a bit easier to handle.

To Be Released/Leaked

  • Yanagi to be released in 1.3
  • Lighter to be released in 1.3
