With the recent Farm Fest on Steam passing, a plethora of new farming games have hit the market, some with fast-approaching release dates. We all know a good, cozy farming sim has to balance cute graphics with a relaxing atmosphere (cue the upcoming Tales of The Shire).
Regardless of the reason for playing, there’s no doubt that the games on the horizon are highly anticipated. Cheery characters and whole galaxies will be released soon on various platforms. In addition to these, the top three farming sim games are… Honorable mentions?
3. Pocket Oasis
Pocket Oasis is a unique farming/gardening game that incorporates hand-painted artwork into the game. Relax on your balcony with the views of the city in the background, all while tending to and raising the plants of your choice. When you’re not enjoying a sunset or two, feel free to discover new plants, planters, balcony decor, and more. In all of its essence, you will learn to be the gardener of your dreams.

2. Cozy Caravan
Oh, Cozy Caravan, how you have stolen our hearts so quickly. Who wouldn’t want to explore nearby towns in caravan selling goods and collecting stories. The best of both worlds come together in harmony with crafting, fun side missions, and intriguing stories of the townsfolk. If that’s not enough to make you play, choose from a cow, panda, axolotl, or another animal of your choice to play through this cozy farming game.

1. Little-Known Galaxy
It’s giving Stardew Valley meets Astroneer vibes. Its familiar pixel art and vibrant colors will draw you in, while its fun storyline will make you stay. As the captain of your ship, you will be in charge of exploring other planets, keeping your crops alive, and cultivating friendships, all while trying to complete your Star Alliance mission.
This little farming game gem is number one for obvious reasons. It was created by a two-personm that development tea happens to be husband and wife. Does it get any cuter than that?

Honorable Mention: Farm Together 2
Although there is nothing robustly exciting about this farming game, it has adorable farm animals. Farm Together 2 is now available to play via early Steam access (with plans to port to other consoles soon). Why wait? Enjoy farming, planting, or terraforming now, either by yourself or with friends in co-op mode.

Honorable Farming Game Mention: Sunnyside
As a cross between a life simulation and farming, Sunnyside seems to have many people talking. Enjoy the Japanese countryside as you form lasting friendships and have a fully customizable character. Arguably, one of the more exciting features of the game is its fishing mechanics and decorating your own home. Make your farm your own with farm animals, plant crops from locals, craft furniture, and more.

From not-so-far-away galaxies to the Japanese countryside, Farm Fest and hard-working devs alike have given the farming sim community a lot to be excited about. It’s hard to whittle down which will become a favorite, and it all depends on what you look for in a farming game.
