Upcoming Super Smash Bros Melee Tournaments

After 20 years, Super Smash Bros Melee is still going strong! In general, it can be challenging to keep track of upcoming tournaments and find out where to sign up for them, but we will cover upcoming larger tournaments so you can tune in or even attend. Undoubtedly, it’s important to note that numerous tournaments are happening worldwide, and it would be almost impossible to compile a comprehensive list of all of them. In addition to larger, well-known events, smaller weekly tournaments held regionally contribute to the vibrant competitive gaming scene. You can check out your regional group to stay updated on weekly tournaments. If I list a tournament that’s too far from you, don’t fret! More prominent tournaments, more often than not, will stream their brackets. With that in mind, let’s dive into upcoming tournaments first, we’ll have to go to Round Rock, Texas!

Low Tide City 2024

Round Rock, Texas, at the Kalahari Resort from May 11th to May 12th, is where Low Tide City 2024 is being held. As of writing this article, there are currently 619 attendees, including Axe. You can sign up to attend the tournament at StartGG. Other games at this tournament are Smash Ultimate, Splatoon, and Street Fighter 6.  Additionally, registration ends May 3rd, so make sure to take advantage of it! Next, let’s head over to Toronto and see what they have going on.

Get on my Level X

Get on My Level X, the 10th edition of this prestigious tournament, is set to make waves in Toronto, Ontario. Remember that the three-day event is scheduled at the Toronto Hotel, starting on May 17th and ending on May 19th in Downtown Toronto. Make sure to mark your calendars! Even though the list of attendees is still unconfirmed, rumors suggest that Dawson may attend. Like Low Tide City 2024, you can register for this event at StartGG here. Stay tuned for more hotel information, venue directions, and exciting updates about this long-standing tournament! Next, we have Camp Collins for another smash event.

Smash Camp: New Lands 2024

You will want to take advantage of this if you live near Gresham, Oregon! From May 31st to June 1st, you can go to Camp Collins for a smash event. According to the website, top smashers have yet to register for the event. However, there are still 251 people who have signed up to attend. In addition, there is a volleyball event with no extra fees. So, if you’re into volleyball or want to participate in the event and see what it’s all about, you should consider checking it out. Now, let’s look at the largest major in Georgia!

Tipped off 15: Connected

Welcome to the largest Melee tournament in the Southeast! In Marietta, Georgia, held at Kennesaw State University, you can participate in a game that started in 2007. The tournament begins June 15 and lasts through the 16th. You can see the likes of Cody Schwab, Zain, Jmook, Moky, Mang0, Aklo, and KoDoRiN! The venue boasts a large area for friendlies and spectators, over 100 setups for play, 24-hour access, and guaranteed top-tier play. This isn’t a tournament you’ll want to miss out on!

What if I Can’t Go?

One of the great things about the current era is that you can easily tune in to live streams of tournaments. If you miss a live stream of a match, no problem! Most matches are recorded and uploaded to YouTube, so you can watch them later when you have time. You can listen to the commentary and support your favorite game. If you plan on attending a tournament, familiarize yourself with the rulesets beforehand. You can also keep track of the brackets in real-time by following the tournament’s respective StartGG links that I will provide. Remember to have fun and always respect both the players and the venues!
