Xbox Game Pass has been available for gamers over the last several years. It gives fans of PC or console games a cheaper option in paying for a subscription to play new games that are released each month. Of course, a monthly Xbox membership is the standard for lovers of the Microsoft platform.
Over the weekend, news came out about the Xbox Game Pass prices possibly being increased. Everything is continuing to jump in price as more gaming systems and favorite titles come out. Here is a breakdown of the prices from 2023 as summer 2024 approaches.
Xbox Game Pass Prices Could Increase Soon In 2024
Last year in 2023, Xbox Game Pass increased their monthly prices for members. Many gamers or fans of the Xbox can spend money on a one-month, three-month, or yearly membership. With the Game Pass feature hitting the platform, it provides a more affordable cost option.
In many cases, gamers can enjoy an early release or have a chance to play a game without paying full retail price with Game Pass.
A great choice that gamers also have is a one-week trial to see if they would want to buy a Game Pass membership. Once players click the option for a membership, the price goes up after the week is over.
Xbox Game Pass Core vs. Ultimate
There is a difference between the Core and Ultimate pricing. Two options for Game Pass buyers are Core for $10.99 a month, or Game Pass Ultimate for $16.99 a month. Not every game can be played with the cheaper Core price. A lot of games include packs for add-ons that do not contain storylines such as racing games or even RPG games that have maps.
Being that Xbox gamers are using Game Pass more, it is figured that Microsoft can gain more profit by increasing the cost. EA Play is another feature with Game Pass at $4.99 a month. Free trial subscriptions are available as well for those who enjoy sports games like Madden, NHL, or the upcoming EA Sports NCAA Football 25.
Microsoft Store On Xbox
Xbox games started out selling in stores such as Walmart, GameStop, Target, etc. People still purchase video games in the old-fashioned way. In the new modern era, the Microsoft store has become the place where gamers of the beloved platform buy their games. Without having to drive to a particular location near their house. They can do it right from inside on their PC or console system.
It is considerate for those who do not leave their homes. Or even for the people who do not have access to get to a gaming store. The cost of video games is realistically the same whether you buy online or not. With the next-generation systems out these days, those prices are higher for the better quality consoles.
True enough, consoles are not as popular as a personal computer. Lovers of a PC like to build their own from scratch. That costs money in itself, not to mention when purchasing what they love to play. Streaming has become a huge money-maker for the new generation of players.
Either way, as times have changed, so has the cost of the things that we all enjoy. Whether it is gaming or other forms of electronics and technology, it comes with a price. No one panic just yet, increases have not been confirmed but may appear soon shortly.
Do not let it stop you from playing the newest Call of Duty, Madden football/College, or Apex Legends. This is just a forewarning for when the cost options start looking different in the coming months for Xbox Game Pass members!
