The Famous Xbox Games Showcase followed by Call of Duty Black Ops 6

Xbox Games Showcase

Second Christmas came early this year for game lovers as the eyes of the world were on the Xbox Games Showcase and the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Direct. Now that the Showcase is over, we got a taste of what is to come, and it tastes good. They showed us what they have been working on and, of course, ended on a high of a look at one of the most anticipated games to come, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. They didn’t just show us what’s new and revealed a few new turns on some old ones.

Not only did we get to see Black Ops 6, but we also got to see Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, along with Dragon Age: The Veilguard with other massive AAA games. Without further, ado, let’s start with a look at what we have coming soon.

Xbox Games Showcase

The show started with a fresh look at Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 trailer. Activision takes us into the conflict in the 1990s at the end of the Cold War. This deep shadow conflict trailer shows a few familiar faces, and we will be able to take a good look into the past. Some of our favorite soldiers are here to give the back guys a persecution complex. We have enjoyed a new Call of Duty every year, and 2024 won’t be any different. It will be available to play on the PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles later this year.

Doom the Dark Ages

Doom: The Dark Ages was next in the Xbox Games Showcase, and we enjoyed its world premiere. Through it, we saw bits of every Doom classic, including aliens, weapons, and conflict with a massive dragon of some kind. They showed us how important and fun it is to blow out aliens head-to-toe next year and will also be available on Game Pass upon release.

This medieval take on Doom is nothing like we have seen before. If you need a chainsaw shield to chew up aliens spilling their entrails or fill your hands with more than a few new ferocious weapons, then Doom: The Dark Ages is for you. It’s the first game in this franchise since 2021’s Doom: Eternal.

State of Decay 3

Xbox Games Showcase number three is State of Decay  3. We are taking it back to 2020 with a peak into Develop Undead Labs. Finding an honest politician might be easier than hoping with endless waves of zombies bent on ending your life. It does show an interesting, familiar view of the State of Decay but now adds some horrific new enemies. No date was given, but it will be available on Game Pass on the first day.

Dragon Age The Veilguard

Dragon Age: The Veilguard came next and is the sequel to Dragon Age: Inquisition from ten years ago. There have been several threads of truth given as they have given us different titles, but now it is set in stone. Not only do we know the new title, but it’s not the only new option, as it also shows that players will have romantic options. Although we only saw a sliver of the game, more came shortly after. A trailer dropped the day after the showcase.

Fallout 76 Major Update

All Fallout 76 fans will love this update, as we will soon have the option of playing as the well-known Ghoul. We have reached the pinnacle after the war. Bethesda and Microsoft have listened to the fans’ years of begging and pleading to be the Ghoul. Soon, that will be possible. Players will only have to be patient for one more year, and then they can roam the Wasteland as a Ghoul. This expansion comes thanks to the inhabitance of Vault-A-Thon, which will be available.

Starfield Shattered Space

Starfield: Shattered Space will bring you to be one of the great figures of the universe as you will be able to visit new planets after you visit a mysterious space station. This expansion to Starfield should be out later this year, but no date has been given. Bethesda has given us more and a better look at this huge RPG universe with incredibly colorful planets and characters with more locations and stories.

World of Warcraft: The War Within

Xbox Games Showcase then showed us the amazing World of Warcraft: The War Within. There are those who live to terrorize Azaroth and more. However, Microsoft and Blizzard took advantage of the Showcase to let World of Warcraft fans see what is to come from Argus, Broken Isles, Draenor, Kalimdor, and more areas. This change and expansion will come on August 26th, so there won’t be much of a wait. Whether you fight for the Horde, Azaroth, or the undead, you will be compelled to fight in the new land in the War Within.

Clair Obscur Expedition 33

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 takes you to a fantastic version of our world with only a name to embrace your purpose. It would be best if you found Paintress. Though the name could conjure violent thoughts, she somehow can change the world with her artwork. We have been promised its release on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 in 2025. It will be playable on the Xbox X and S, and PC. Game Pass players will also be able to play on release. This game is brand new, and not much is known besides its mind-blowing locations with strange and fantastic enemies just waiting for you.

South of Midnight

South of Midnight was shown with gameplay accuracy, adding a glimpse into the combat footage. It is also a location to look, but where else can you see a massive talking fish? The Xbox Games Showcase gave us a look into the humid swamp setting of South of Midnight in this third-person view adventure. The trailer gave us a look into a stop-motion-like play style. It will also be Xbox Game Pass-friendly and playable on the Xbox Series X, S, and PC next year.

Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater has been coming for a long time after Konami kept things so quiet. Finally, in the Xbox Games Showcase, we got our first sneak peek at a few seconds of hints revealing some facts about the story. We find Snake doing things only he can do with his CQC against a helicopter. It was a wonderful opportunity to see the boss that Snake would be taking on and some other characters Snake would have to take on using stealth. There wasn’t a release date given.

Sea of Thieves Update

Taking on the high seas was next with an up-close look into Sea of Thieves. It didn’t look like this game was going to slow down in its villainous pirate way of life. Its cutthroat multiplayer game adds a treasure trove that will add very lucrative opportunities at the end of July. There wasn’t much information, but a malevolent warship that can shoot fireballs from its bow.

Flintlock The Siege of Dawn

The showcase kept insisting on providing its viewers with games, including Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn. Ashen brought a game that many might not have expected. Flintlock is a third-person action game that comes out in mid-July. It is a Soulslike where there are hunters, and you are the prey. You won’t be alone as you will be added by a fennec fox that can fly and talk.

Perfect Dark

The Xbox Games Showcase showed a reboot of the long-anticipated Perfect Dark. We saw the gameplay of Agent Dark sneaking around city streets, taking out bad guys with ease. So far, so good. Unfortunately, we weren’t given a release date, but the game pass will be available to play.

Age of Mythology Retold

Age of Mythology Retold shows that the Greek Gods still have sharp teeth. This RTS level of play with Age Mythology allows you to pick a god from ancient Greek mythology and fight for a settlement in this mythology setting. It’s a magical gameplay from the same team that brought you Age of Empire. You won’t just see the Greek gods but also Norse, Egyptian, and Atlantean mythology from over 50 missions, and we will have it later this year.

Diablo IV Vessel of Hatred

We aren’t through with the Gods, as Diablo was next. Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred got an in-depth look and the promise of a new area, character class, and more to the story. It comes just in time for Halloween and is a perfect addition to Diablo that fans should love. Xbox Games Showcase came at the right time, as Diablo IV is a top Xbox game, especially for Game Pass users.

Fable

Next came a look at the wonderful choice game, Fable, where your decisions will change the game and its outcome. In the reboot, players will be in Grimdark, where monsters and people strive to compete against each other. This game showed an engaging combat style with few hints about the story. We have been given hints in the past, but finally, we saw a little of what it is like to live beyond the screen in Fable. The trailer showed Humphry, a retired hero who advises you on how to survive in this dangerous world of magic. The game will also be released next year and be playable on Game Pass.

FragPunk

At the Xbox Games Showcase, they gave us a change of venue with FragPunk. Unlike our other predeceasing games, which focus on magic and fantasy, we were shown a 5v5 combat shooter with weapons that do just what they say they will do, like World Flip, Chain Reaction, and even one that gives your target a huge bobblehead. It was one of the few games to make its debut from Bad Guitar Studios and leave a wacky, zany taste in your mouth. It’s got style and will be available next year.

Winter Burrow

Xbox showed us another change of pace in Winter Burrow. This was another one-of-a-kind that made its premiere for us. We have an eye full of magic, fantasy, Gods, demons, and monsters. In Winter Burrow, we get a taste of gameplay that is more cutesy than other games. You will have the chance to know what it is like to be an adorable little mouse who has to survive in the cold, snowy wilderness, searching for a lost aunt. It also comes out next year, and you will have to gauge how difficult it is to craft, knit, bake, and make friends in a harsh world.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure

Deck Nine and Square Enix Games gave us the next part in Life is Strange: Double Exposure. We get to be part of the Max Caufields protagonist’s life where you can still time-skip. Not only does she have problems with slim possibilities of survival. She also has the problems that come as she is thrown into a parallel universe. You will implement fact-checking thoughts when solving a murder. If that isn’t hard enough, you will have to solve the same murder between two timelines. It comes out in late October.

Microsoft Flight Simulator

If you are a flyer, the only thing you might be thinking about in this Xbox Games Showcase is Microsoft’s Flight Simulator. Here, you will get to blend into the air with new planes, extensive commercial flights, and VIP charter services. It is a serene, sim-like game with scenic views and an above-the-earth view. Be the best pilot you can be through peaceful air.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

""

I have to admit I have been waiting on this one, and it was worth it. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle reach all the high expectations, and Jones has to travel the globe to see and find an ancient puzzle. Indy has to punch and whip past all the evil who are also after the Great Circle. This first-person single-player action-adventure time occurs between Raiders of the Lost Arc and the Last Crusade. We only have to wait until later this year to live a little like the famed explorer.

Mecha Break

For all Gundam fans, there is Mecha Break. Take on your foes in the air or on the ground, launching massive robots with fantastic customization. You will also enjoy the combat with massive male weapons and swords or take the other guys out from afar with missiles or guns. Mecha Break is coming out next year and is available on the Xbox X/S and also the PC.

Avowed

We were given a fantastic first-person fantasy RPG from Obsidian Entertainment in Avowed, which was next in the Xbox Games Showcase. A plague calls you, the envoy of Aedyr, to figure out where its origin is. Avowed will be out later this year, where you can wield magic with a sword in hand to save the world.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows

We enjoyed another massive title in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which we are now in Japan. It was shown with one of the longest trailers in the showcase. It will live up to all the other Assassin’s Creed games, where you must carry out insane assassinations, moving through fantastic locations and danger around every corner. With remarkable combat, it comes out on November 15th.

Stalker 2 Heart of Chernobyl

Now, the weather has changed in more ways than one. Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is a first-person shooter in which you must take down bad guys and bad bots in wild, weather-changing situations. It will be released on September 5th.

There was also the digital Xbox Series X console reveal. Xbox gave out the goods on its new hardware, with improved memory and speed in these new Xbox Series X/S machines. Also, with the all-digital machine, there are both white and black versions of the consoles.

Gears of War E-Day

Gears of War E-Day was shown with thunderous applause to the game, showing the world’s end. Luckily, you will have bigger guns for horrors that are larger than what they were before. Gear fans have been waiting for five years to see what Marcus Fenix has been doing. Unfortunately, this wasn’t a gameplay-showing trailer, but it was enough to whet our appetite.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6

The long wait was over at the Xbox Games Showcase! Activision gave the goods on Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. This wasn’t a disappointment as it gave a lot for fans to figure out. We will get to play on October 25th in one of the most popular first-person shooters. They gave us 25 minutes of insight into the game and how it’s made. Fans were treated to learning the mechanics, combat, story, multiplayer, and the nonstop Zombies action.
