Xbox President Sarah Bond has teased a few big changes to Game Pass, the hit subscription service that provides players with more than a few games to play. It has been a saving grace for Microsoft, and it could be even bigger in the near future. Tons of first-party games from the various companies under the Xbox umbrella will be on the service, with bigger and better ones being teased.
Right now, there is a wide variety of top-notch games to play on Game Pass. This includes some from Bethesda, Activision, EA, and other massive gaming companies. The service is in the middle of an uncertain period, but it seems as if the company is planning to back Game Pass even more in the future. That’s good news for gamers who have stuck by the console.
Xbox Likely Adding Call of Duty to Game Pass Soon

Sarah Bond recently spoke with Bloomberg about the state of the console, and she revealed a lot about the gaming giant. She plainly stated that first-party titles across the entire slate would be added to Game Pass, specifically noting Activision. The Activision acquisition was one of the biggest for Microsoft, and they plan to make full use of it. That very well may include any Call of Duty titles.
It remains unconfirmed whether or not 2024’s Call of Duty Black Ops: Gulf War would land on the service day one, but it’s very possible. The Microsoft team also confirmed in the report that they were working on getting the CoD library onto Game Pass. There is a rich history of popular games in the franchise that would likely drive up subscriptions for Game Pass, which would be a positive for the brand.
This may come with a price increase. Reports suggest that Microsoft is internally considering hiking the price again. The addition of perhaps the biggest franchise they have access to would certainly make Game Pass a lot more alluring, and it could lead to an increase. The fact that most major first-party games will continue to be added to Game Pass on launch also suggests a possible price hike.
Big Games Set to Drop on Game Pass

Bond also confirmed that “some really big games” are set to eventually drop on Game Pass. In 2024, that already includes the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Avowed, and others. There will be a Game Showcase in June that reveals more of what Microsoft has dropping this year, and most of it will likely go on the subscription service.
The console is reportedly gearing up for some big announcements, and they will likely all center around Game Pass. It is currently a driving force behind Microsoft’s success, as they have struggled to keep up in the console war against PlayStation and even Nintendo. The fact that a back catalog of games like Skyrim, Fallout: New Vegas, Minecraft, Madden 24, and Halo Infinite are all in one place for one fee has kept them afloat.
The gaming console has had a tough go of it recently, but the news regarding the subscription service and the myriad of changes it is likely to undergo soon is a positive development. The game company has had to find new ways to adapt to the future of gaming, and all of this could be a very positive outcome for players.
