The Zelda Heardle and Mario Heardle are sweeping the nation. These online trivia games have become all the rage. The Immaculate Grid, New York Times Connections, Wordle, Factle, and so many others have all originated and gone viral in the last year or so. Heardle is an extremely popular one, and it has a lot of subsets.
The idea behind these games is to give you little bits of music from anything or anyone. You will then guess what the song is, with only a few chances before you lose. Generally, these reset daily. In the months since Heardle first originated, a Zelda version and a Mario version have both arisen. Now, your random and useless video game soundtrack knowledge can actually be useful!

If you visit the Zelda Heardle website or just Google that term, you’ll find one of the subsets of Heardle. You are able to play the daily puzzle once and you have six guesses, each providing more of the track. For example, Friday, June 7’s song was Ingo’s theme from Ocarina of Time. You have six chances to guess, and by the end, you are able to play a substantial chunk of the song to give yourself the best shot at guessing. The sooner you get it right, the better! Each one will let you know if you’ve picked the right game as a clue.
There is also Zelda Heardle Infinite. You can play endlessly and try to predict song after song. If you find that the Heardle is a lot of fun but are disappointed that it lasts five minutes at most and then requires a long wait, this is for you. There are a lot of songs across 29 Zelda games, so there’s plenty for you to listen to.
Play Mario Heardle Every Day

For the Mario Heardle, you can do the same. Simply head over to the website or Google it to start playing. It is pretty much exactly the same as the Zelda Heardle, but the Mario Heardle has much more music to choose from. As a result, you get more hints. This version will tell you if the console is correct, the game is newer or older than your guess, and even the genre (3D Platformer, for example).
Once again, there is an infinite option here. Since there are far more Mario games than Zelda games, this will be a much more limitless experience. You can try naming tracks ranging from Super Mario Odyssey to Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Since these two franchises are arguably the most popular in the world of video games, these are extremely popular Heardles. It doesn’t hurt that both soundtracks are iconic and filled with unique, excellent music.
