Hazard is the newest addition to Overwatch 2. Gamers have had a chance to see what he is all about on an official launch trailer. This came out earlier this week, where gamers can see the newest skin for one of the most popular shooter games out there. Hazard is the tank of the party adorned with spikes. He is the rough and tough, hands-on fighter who leaves other teams running for their lives. Blizzard’s new addition, Hazard, is a punk rock character whose rough-around-the-edges can take on the largest groups and is a member of Phreakz, a rebellious faction aligned with the Omnics that fights for bodily autonomy.
Overwatch 2 Now Has Hazard
Hazard’s background reveals that he used to be a member of the military, and it cost him more than a few years. After years of service, he lost several limbs and now has a full-body cybernetic suit that enhances all his abilities. First of all is his Doomfist, which is well used to harass the enemy team and protect your friends. Then, this is your next favorite move.
This isn’t the only thing Hazard can do. He also has his Bonespur, which is his arm appendage that doubles as his shotgun. It shoots a fire burst of spikes, and it looks good doing it. There is also his jump attack called his Violent Leap. When activated, it sends him flying toward his target, and when landing on them, he extends a blade out of his left arm and slices and dices his target. Hazard also has his Spike Guard, which is just as it sounds, as it protects his front as well as those around him, and he also fires spikes that home in on his enemies.
A Good Defense Is A Good Defense
That isn’t the only defensive ability, as he can also use a Jagged Wall that brings a temporary Vanadium wall that pushes back enemies and also damages them. What’s cool about this ability is it just doesn’t go in front of him; he can use it on the floor’s walls and above him. Another positive point is they can also be used as a climbing or vaulting tool for Hazard. Like all Overwatch 2 characters, Hazard’s ultimate weapon is his Downpour. As with all his weapons, when used, Hazard shows an area of spikes that damage and immobilize enemies, slowing them and making them easy pickings for his friends.
What makes Hazard so versatile is that he has both offensive and defensive capabilities. He can fill a location with his abilities and can also stay mobile. He can take a bit of damage and help his teammates do what they do best. That isn’t his deepest gift, though, as he uses his versatile kit to get the high ground, sideline other teams, and stop them in their tracks.
Do You Need More Than A Wall
Hazard shares some characteristics with Doomfist, but his ability makes him more of a moving mountain—not just a mountain, but one with Spikes. When he uses Spike Guard, Hazard reloads his Bonespur, giving him some extra firepower. This gives him the chance to harass the enemies just a little more.
Blizzard has given us a new fantastic opportunity to be a punk-rocking, spike-throwing neurotic whose story teaches that nothing is going to stop this guy. If you are a little more of a versatile tank and have a deep love for a cyberpunk, spike-shooting moving wall, get playing with Hazard. Overwatch 2 is free to play on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
