Schedule 1 is the game that is sweeping the nation! Players have flocked to the game since it launched at the end of last month. It is currently the top-selling game on Steam and sits in the top three most-played alongside gaming juggernauts Counter-Strike: GO and DOTA 2. This is an impressive feat for an indie game. However, the game does have some significant bugs, and the developers have promised to improve them. Update #6 was dropped earlier this week.
Schedule 1 Patch Notes
The developers created a second version of the game in a way. According to the developers, it “isn’t quite as performant as the normal version, but it generally handles errors a bit better and is less prone to crashing.” In order to get this version, players have to opt in to the beta version of the game. That is the biggest change. From there, the rest are minor bug fixes. Schedule 1 needed some of these to be fixed. Here are the full patch notes.
Additions
- Added alternate version.
- Added ‘cleartrash’ command. Useful if you’re experiencing performance drops due to lots of trash items.
Tweaks/Improvements
- Chemists can now be assigned up to 4 stations (up from 3).
Bug fixes
- Fixed mixing colliders behind the Slop Shop.
- Fixed not being able to knock on the door of the tall building next to the overpass.
- Fixed player speed multiplier not resetting after exiting and reloading.
- Fixed warehouse NPCs not returning to their jobs after attacking the player.
- Fixed employees being able to be assigned to stuff at other properties.
- Fixed being able to pick up items while on a skateboard.
Hopefully More To Come
These fixes were necessary for Schedule 1, but hopefully, there will be more in the future. Given the success of the game, there is pressure on the developers to keep improvements coming. With many indie studios, this can be a tall task as they don’t have a team of people ready to fix every single bug. However, this doesn’t seem to be deterring players that much.
Players are happy to channel their inner Walter White and rule the streets as the next drug kingpin. When players are having fun, they are more likely to look the other way on minor bugs. This is already the sixth update since its release, so Schedule 1 looks to be an ever-evolving game. We’ll have to see what the developers continue to do with a game that they probably didn’t expect to become this popular.
