Destiny 2 Vesper’s Host: VS Velocity Baton God Roll Guide

Vesper's Host

Vesper’s Host is a brand-new Dungeon in Destiny 2 that was released three days after the launch of the Revenant Episode. This new Dungeon came back with a classic returning Exotic from the original Destiny game as well as new Legendary weapons. This Dungeon takes place on the Europa destination. Each weapon comes with an exclusive Origin Trait called Bray Legacy. It allows the damage dealt by these weapons to generate a small amount of ability energy for the ability that is closest to a full charge.

VS Velocity is an Area Denial Grenade Launcher that has Void affinity. It is the second weapon of its archetype and the first to have a Void element. These Grenade launchers are popular in PvE, allowing them to perform crowd control well. Being a Void weapon, Velocity Baton also has access to perks that synergize well with the Void subclass across Warlocks, Titans, and Hunters. In Revenant, there are also Artifact Perks that boost the lethality of Grenade Launchers.

This weapon drops from the first and last encounter of Vesper’s Host and comes with 12 perk options. In the left column, this weapon has access to perks of Demolitionist, Unrelenting, Slickdraw, Under-Over, Danger Zone, and Reverberation. In the right column, this weapon has perk options like Attrition Orbs, High Ground, Repulsor Brace, Adagio, Destabilizing Rounds, and Harmony.

PvE God Roll

For PvE, players want to boost the Reload Speed and Velocity of Velocity Baton. Reload Speed is for obvious reasons, and Velocity increases the length of the Grenade projectile. For this purpose, players should go with Quick Launch as the Barrel perk, High-Velocity Rounds as the Magazine option, and a Reload Speed Masterwork. In the left column, Demolitionist is a great choice to have. Each kill with the Grenade Launcher will grant Grenade ability energy. This perk also has a second functionality where using your Grenade ability automatically reloads the weapon from reserves.

This will allow Velocity Baton to completely bypass the Reload. Unrelenting is another option that leans towards the survivability aspect. It allows kills with the weapons to restore some amount of health. In the right column, there are some interesting perk options. Adagio and High Ground are both damage-boosting perks. Adagio increases the weapon’s damage by 20 percent but it decreases the weapon’s rate of fire. However, Velocity Baton does not have a rate of fire as it is a Grenade Launcher. Therefore, players can take advantage of this perk without worrying about its drawbacks.

High Ground

High Ground is also a good damage-dealing perk and is easier to take advantage of if players are standing on a higher ground than their enemies. Destabilizing Rounds is the final perk option and is the one that synergizes with the Void subclass. It allows the final blows with the weapon to make nearby enemies Volatile. Volatile is a Void verb and is great for crowd control.

  • Barrel: Quick Launch
  • Magazine: High-Velocity Rounds
  • Masterwork: Reload Speed
  • Left Perk: Demolitionist
  • Right Perk: Adagio, Destabilizing Rounds
