Comprehensive List of Ys 10: Nordics Voice Actors

The release of Ys 10: Nordics is just around the corner, and its free demo was released on Monday by publisher Nippon Ichi Software’s American branch which is located in Santa Ana, California. Much like Lacrimosa of Dana and Monstrum Nox, it features voice acting in many of the cutscenes. But who are the voice actors for this latest title? With Nordics’ release a week away, let’s take a look at which characters we know will be voiced by who in the English localization.

Main Characters

Much like in the previous two games, Bryce Papenbrook is reprising his role as Adol Christin, the series’ protagonist. Likewise, Patrick Seitz is reprising his role as Dogi, Adol’s best friend and traveling partner. They have been the staple voices for these characters for several games now, so it’s great to see them return as these characters in another game.

Notably, at the beginning of Nordics’ demo, Adol has one of two spoken lines depending on which dialogue option the player chooses. Adol doesn’t have any voiced lines for the rest of the demo, but it could be a sign that he’ll have more spoken lines in the full release of the game. Karja Balta, the “Pirate Princess” of the Balta Seaforce and the game’s second protagonist, is voiced by Cherami Leigh. Leigh also voiced Sonia in Tears of the Kingdom.

Side Characters

Also like Lacrimosa of Dana and Monstrum Nox, several of the side characters in Nordics have voice lines in cutscenes. These characters can be found in Carnac, as well as the Normans’ Balta Island. Grenn, the son of Carnac’s mayor Clement, is voiced by Alejandro Saab. Rosalind Rusveri, the daughter of the couple who run Carnac’s Inn, is voiced by Anairis Quinones. The young heir to Carnac’s successful Carpent Trading, Cruz, is voiced by Micah Solusod. Grenn and Cruz’s childhood friend Rafe is voiced by Ricco Fajardo.

Mirabel, whose father runs the Carnac clinic (when he isn’t away fishing), is voiced by Madeline Dorroh. The English voice actor for Lila Mistral, the mysterious voice from a seashell who grants Adol the use of Mana, hasn’t been revealed yet. Brent Mukai is the voice actor for the mysterious nameless old man whom Adol meets on Viewpoint Isle. Grimson Balta, Karja’s father and the jarl of the Balta Seaforce, is voiced by SungWon Cho. Cho, known as “ProZD” online, also voiced Ratatoskr in God of War Ragnarok.

Antagonists

Nordics’ antagonists are the Griegr, monsters whom the Normans have been fighting against. Though most of the Griegr are non-humanoid, in the demo we meet three humanoid Griegr. Jörð is the first, appearing during the attack on Carnac, voiced by Rebeka Thomas. The second humanoid Griegr, Lǫgr, appears after Iði is revealed to have been Dogi. Lǫgr is voiced by Kieran Regan. Óðr is the third, challenging Adol to kill him in 3 months’ time. He is voiced by Jason Marnocha. If there are additional antagonists later in Nordics’ story, their names and voice actors likely won’t be revealed until later.

Final Thoughts

Ys 10: Nordics has a large cast of recognized voice talents. Some have voiced for Nihon Falcom games in the past, while others have voiced for other games but never a Falcom game until Nordics. Some of the supporting cast’s voice actors have yet to be revealed, such as Rafe’s mother Momina or Cruz’s father Romes. These characters’ voice actors might be revealed as the release of the game draws nearer.
