Fallout 4 features various Companions that players can use throughout their journey. These Companions assist the Lone Survivor in their journey and quests by doing multiple tasks. Cait is a possible Companion in the game who is a rough and tough Irish drug addict. She was raised in an abusive household and was then sold into slavery when she was 18 years old. Where to Find
To find Cait in Fallout 4, players must head to the Combat Zone which is near the downtown Boston area. Players can reach the area fairly early in the game. Once players enter the Combat Zone they will face multiple raiders. Kill them and head inside the ring. There they will find a character named Tommy as well as Cait.
Players will have a conversation with both of them, and Tommy will convince her to go with the Sole Survivor. After the conversation is over, players will need to talk to her again to make her a permanent companion. It is important to note that there is no requirement to make Cait a possible companion and is possible from the start of the game.
Stats and Abilities
Cait has a stat distribution of 5-10-7-7-7-10-7 for a total of 53 points. These are a bit on the lower side for the human companions in Fallout 4. She also has a normal carrying weight of 150. She also has no immunity making her vulnerable to poison and radiation. However, Cait makes up for her shortcomings in stats thanks to her ability to pick locks. Picking locks is an important mechanic in the game, that is required for uncovering secret items and loot. To make her pick locks, players will need to provide her with Bobby Pins, items used to pick locks. It is also not guaranteed that she will be able to pick every lock that she finds.
Affinity
Affinity is a special interaction and ability that players can unlock with their Companion in Fallout 4 through their actions. First of all, Cait is a romancable option and this option is not limited to the player’s gender. She has a general affinity, and she likes it when the player is selfish or violent. She dislikes it when a person acts generous, mean, or peaceful. Other ways that players can improve their affinity with her is when they use chem addiction, pick locks or pickpockets, as well as get naked. She dislikes it when players donate items, eat corpses, or murder innocent people.
Trigger Rush & Side Quest
Trigger Rush is the Cait Companion perk in Fallout 4 which is activated once players have the maximum affinity with her. It allows Action Points to regenerate faster once the player is below 25 percent of their health. This companion also gives players a side quest which done, gives players an achievement. This is called Benign Intervention and to start the quest, players must have high affinity with the companion. This quest will require players to cure her chem addiction. However, it should be kept in mind that completing the quest will change Cait’s affinities.
